2) There's quite a number, although they depend on discipline. Some races will take upwards of 10 minutes, however, and there's one that takes 30-40 minutes.
3) New loot you receive is usually an upgrade to your current car's parts. However, you occasionally receive weird downgrades when your car exceeds a certain level that's high up.
4) Yes. Every month, the game will receive 2 vehicles that are free for everyone (SP owners get them in their garage a week early). Feature updates are coming tri-monthly.
5) Yes, and it is really annoying.
Blue and Purple parts will have certain perks attached to them which can range from boosting the amount of money you earn, increased nitro recovery speed, how much a crash will affect you (to name but a few).
Rubberbanding is present, but in my experience at least, it seems to work both ways, cars will speed up when behind and will slow down a bit when ahead. the rubberbanding is not that noticeable on the "regular" races, but seem to be very noticeable on the "special event" races.

A green part usually has the same core performance enhancement as the blue or purple part excluding bonuses.
