My game is in Russian (I'm american)

The title says it all. My game is in Russian and I can't figure out how to change it to English. I found the option in game but it doesn't work. Anyone have any suggestions?

In all seriousness though I don't remember seeing a language option in the games settings when I was tweaking things in the beta

How would I know if steam downloaded a Russian version? I have never set up a VPN. I live in Kentucky and have never had this issue before

hmm.. in Closed Beta, In Open Beta, now in full Release, there is still option to change language for Sound, Text and Keyboardlayout. So 3 different settings.

Could you go to settings -> downloads -> download region
It's not Russia, is it?

Start button > Options > Game Settings > Audio Language, Text Language or Keyboard Language

I had the same issue (also did not use a VPN; it would be silly anyway, since I'm on CEST). I tried checking around the different files and also the registry; the regkeys had not been added correctly, so I eventually uninstalled the game and the beta (I had played both the closed and open beta). Then downloaded and installed again. STILL in Russian, BUT at least now I could change languages in the Options menu (second from the top once you've started the game, from there the first option from the left). Before I could only change between Russian and Chinese for some bizarre reason, now I can choose English and lots of other European languages.

tl;dr: You may have to uninstall the game and download+install it again.
