Indeed, what car are you using and are you at full perf level with it?
You can also look into the pro-tuning on your car and get some better performance out of it.
Check some of the main players of the game on YouTube. They show their pro-tuning settings. Also you will get a feeling for what the "best" vehicles are for each vehicle type. Some vehicles in their discipline are just overwhelmingly in the top scores.
For instance, the Hurracane is often one of the top scorers for any SR event.
In Touring Car it's long been the Masserati, but now it's one of the Lambos since the update.
Look about, some vehicles are best for certain disciplines or even certain events.
And I want to state it again, look into pro-tuning settings. They can make a *huge* difference. =)
That's a fine ride def!
On some courses in the game where there are no long straight aways it can be helpful to, in pro-tuning, set the gears back one or two places to increase your speeds in some courses.
It's usually only worthwhile to have gears at 10 for events where there are some long stretches where you won't need to use your brakes or let off the throttle.
Since you seem new, I want to add that sometimes it pays to go into Controls and change the transmission from Auto to Sequential.
Also, I'd like to know, what do you use to play the game? Wheel? XBox or other controller? Keyboard?
Use the Lambo Hurracan.
But, seriously, as Ham (previously Han and soon again to be Han) said, look into the pro-tuning. It can make a difference of night and day.
