ok so everyone is overtaking me in dragsters, i don't know what to do with them? i changed the aero dist all the way left [down] and another time changed it up 3 notches. tried reducing tyre grip by half, but still can't catch up with other players ghosts.

I don't believe I changed my pro-settings, but I can take a couple of screen shots later and post them in this thread for everyone to look at.

When I finally grokked how drag racing works I started to win the Hard and then Ace difficulties. Helps that I grinded to get all parts up to 400.

I currently use a full set of Nitro Chemist parts. On every single one of them Pure and Frentic are at maximum percentages. Doing so cost me hundreds and hundreds of thousands of Bucks and tons of scrap parts to get the set fully optimized.

Before that I managed to get a full set of Loot Digger and recalibrated them to have max Pure, Frentic, and some Luck. That was also a pricey undertaking. I used that set to pull in lots of gold parts so I could finally get the last NC set parts I needed.

Technique wise, Perfect Burn and Perfect Start are essential. You can recover from just a Good Start, but you'd better hit your gear changes just right and have plenty of nitro (and preferably a full set of NC parts).

Not every gear change needs to be perfect. Often just having most be Good is enough to beat an event on Ace.

But honestly, that double nitro, if you want to really get up there in the top tiers with your record times you absolutely must have a full set of NC parts.

Beyond that I don't know how it happens when it does and why it doesn't always happen. Usually I can get a top speed of 409-411 MPH in a run if I get things right.

However, sometimes some kind of magic happens and I can hit a high of 438 MPH. That's the times I've really moved up the global rankings.

I'm pretty certain that your tippy top tier in each event is due to team efforts using slip stream in a crew. I've never done that. I doubt most people would be willing to hang with me and do the same Drag Race events twenty times in a row. LOL

Hey, don't knock it! You can make money fast doing these events, especially if you drop a ton of Icon Points into Bucks.

Yeah, don't worry about perfect shifting. Especially in the shortest races as you wind up hitting nitro in 5th too late in the run.

And on a side note, it's so nice in this game to be seen as someone who is highly competent in an event type.

As I often honestly state how much I suck. LOL

Oh, and part of my incentive to spend so much time and effort on this whole thing was b/c I wanted to blow all of Basti's records out of the water. =)

Oh, and for anyone coming into this not knowing anything about Drag Racing; don't bother with any DR vehicle other than the Corvette Stingray. It's the best of them and there's no reason to buy the others as you'll only ever use them if they are required in a Summit.

hi lady D, well yes you are excellent and your ghost dragster flies in front of me lol. yea i got pure and frenetic on all, but i didn't realise that changing gears etc differently to what the game suggests is better.

you are welcome to add me to a crew anytime. for me the game does bug out quite a lot [when im ina crew] tho doh. i'm getting better at HC's now, and am at the top of my freinds list on the majority of street races [but i don't mind being beaten by a lady lol]. i don't believe anyone in the world can beat me on a bike without floaty pro settings, and even then that only works on a few races [as the times prove].
