how do you do drift?
i can't do the drift events or work them out et al. i'v tried getting around the track without touching anything, but still can't get the required points ~ even on normal difficulty.

damn summits keep requiring them. ...does anyone like it? [more than 5% of players i mean].

Then you could also check out RaceMasterDave's videos. His "noob does the summit" series is pretty ok, and he show settings in most all of the videos as he tweaks them.
He also does real update TC2 videos (no rumours).. He is part of "Pit Crew".

Btw: Here he is testing the McLaren Drift they won in last weeks summit. The Car black panhtaa says is undrivable.,,. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYBn9aHL7Tg

So have you heard of anything coming down the pike from his videos?
I sucked at them too bro -

Here is a tip which works for me to at least 50k points for starters.

Turn down ESP, Drift assis and Traction controll all the way down to -

There is a place in san francisco next to HQ with a big Round a bound I tried to drift there and maintain it and try it with One side and then the other side (so u train left and right drift)
Best for me was staying at 100km/h i dunno how it translates in to mph maybe kinda 60-80ish.
(I used the 370z from the Road Samurai event Stock and than with all the upgrades I had)

and remember to stay only slightly sideways not to much! or you lose control everytime.

IN EVENT:

I first get to 100 km/h and then try to slightly turn and let the car "drift" so now u should collect the points - U need to control with Throttle , sometimes u need to pause and throttle and sometimes u can go full trothle depends on the curve-

and alway do mini drifts on straight so u dont lose the multiplier - at first u get little points but this will increase with the duration of the drift exponentially.
try to get at least 10k and then maybe 15k and so on and so on.

god I hate drifting but now its at least bearable and most importantly finishable lol. hope I could help.
thank you! i will try that out, one final try. i still hate the racket they make though, and will never love this discipline.

i maintain that a summit should by definition be a measure of who is fastest at a few disciplines. the devs know which ones most people cannot do or otherwise don't like.
A game with tons of disciplines and you want to restrict everyone to SR only? Yeah, nah.
