tri-Ace owns everything?
Surprised to not see SEGA as a publsher of this on Steam (they were on consoles). tri-Ace owns all the rights? Don't think I saw them noted as a "publisher" for any other Steam games.

I think we owe it to them for the reasonable price (SEGA isn't known for that). Didn't think this game will ever come to PC.

If Sega had done it, it probably would have been even cheaper (at least in USD). It also may have had better QA and a stronger port (things like ultra-widescreen, more graphics options, functional mouse-look, etc.).
Functional mouse look maybe, it still would've been ported by the same people. So likely still would've had same problems. Just look at Star ocean 4. Shares a lot in common with this port. Because it was done by the same people probably.

Plenty of Sega ports have problems that never get fixed.

Not having ultra wide is hardly an issue, ultra wide is niche and it's far too much work to go back and rework things like cutscenes for a different aspect ratio than they were designed for for such a likewise niche game.

Maybe Tri-ace will step up and patch this game since they are self publishing, unlike the garbage that comes out of the after mentioned Square Enix, which randomly decides for arbitrary reasons which games to actually bother giving a ♥♥♥♥ enough to patch. (FF or not. Tons of the FF ports are still either awful or low budget lazy crap)

To be fair Yakuza 0 and Bayonetta are cheap.

sure that's why Bayonetta and vanquish are twice cheaper and also Valkyria... But hey if you don"t know taht 40 is twice higher than 20.... Yeah go back to school then.

I'm sorry, what? Would you care to enlighten me just when SEGA was being unreasonable with their prices? Because all of their Steam rereleases have always been marked between $20-$30 at the start.

If you want overpriced, take a look at Koei Tecmo. That's a pandora box waiting to be opened.

IMHO, the price on Valkyria Chronicles 4 is too high.

Well, I agree with the possible cheaper cost, but for the porting I don't think so... Anyway, tri-Ace at least released a patch for SO4 after few days (a week or two... I don't remember exactly when now), even tought it was published under SE, and we know how much SE cares about broken ports that are not related to FF, DQ or Tomb Raider... (Nier: Automata *chough*)

That's not SEGA being unreasonable, that's just the standard price of a new game. Besides, I specifically mentioned Steam rereleases.

Sega has better QA, though, so problems like the audio stutter, broken mouse-look, and no way to quit the game would have undoubtedly been found and fixed.

And Sega has recently been stepping up their game, providing ports with considerable PC-specific features (they're now doing things like ultrawide support, unlimited draw distances, robust KBM controls, etc.).

The problem is that I don't know how able tri-Ace is to respond to reports in English. They have an official support form (https://www.tri-ace.co.jp/en/contact/index.php) that they provide to Steam, but who knows if they're really able to actually provide support outside Japan.

Its priced at 60 euro/$60. Fact they didnt bother to match the prices in their actual value shows they didnt care as much imo. Still, lets wait and see if the game gets decent discounts before the end of the year, before completly discarding the price as 'too high'.

Yeah indeed. There's rare exceptions like Nioh, but for the most part they are indeed the very most overpriced.

Thank God that SEGA isn't a publisher, otherwise this would have been ruined by Denuvo. I'm glad it's self-published; I'll be grabbing this once I finish Valkyria Chronicles 4 (on the PS4).

It's about time, letting SEGA publish Resonance Of Fate was a big mistake, SEGA are a trash company. So glad tri-Ace self-published.
