MOD - Real Car Names
Car Names
Hi! I just wanted to release a mod of my interpretation of the corresponding real car names of the cars in CMS18.

Update!
I've changed a few car names, as I've seen these more fitting!

Here's some pictures:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1115929193
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1115929309

To install:
Go to your Car Mechanic Simulator 18 folder (Could be done through right-clicking the game in steam library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files)
Then go to cms2018_Data -> StreamingAssets -> Cars.

Remember it's a zip-file, so unpack it before putting it in the Cars-folder.
Put all the folders of the different cars in here. When prompted to overwrite, press yes to all.
This will overwrite the file: name.txt, which contains the name of the car.

Link to download: (There are two spaces in the link, remove them)
goo. gl/ 8PZkVB

I did this for personal use, but I thought that I could share it with the community. However, I won't do support. You'll figure it out eventually.

If you think that a car is represented wrong in this mod, feel free to mention it!

Good Luck!

Interior Names
I have added the corrected names for interior parts for the english translation. This meaning that the benches, seats, steering wheels and rims will have the correct name now. I also fixed the issue with !bench_challenger, so that it has its corrected name.

Note: This file will likely be updated by RedDot often, so this particular file might be obsolete after one or two updates. Also, this is only the the translation file, which can be found "StreamingAssets -> Localizations" in the CMS18 folder.

To install:
Replace the English.txt in "...\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\cms2018_Data\StreamingAssets\Localizations" with the downloaded one.

Link to download: (There are two spaces in the link, remove them)
goo. gl/ WBWP85 (File is obsolete as of the new update 1.06)

Thank you sonmarcel for finding out about the interior parts and providing valuable information that's easy to understand!

Extra Info
The Audi A3 4x4 is a sad name for the otherwise known Audi A3 Quattro. If you want this name instead of Audi A3 4x4 in-game, then search for you MayenM3 folder, then open up config1.txt and replace carVersionName=4x4 with carVersionName=Quattro.

Note: Edit the textfiles with notepad++ or something other than notepad, as notepad can give formatting errors, that WILL cause crashes of your game. E.g. Black Screen etc.

Neat mod! I personally think the Pinto resembles a Chevette tho.

I can see your point, it does resemble a Chevette also. You can change the name in the SalemFlamo folder in the name.txt :)

It's a Pinto. Cheeky Red Dot called it a "Flamo" because the Pinto's fuel tank was known for bursting into flames.

Very nice... might this data be compiled into a CMS18 guide?

Am I the only one having trouble using that link every time I put into the browser it shows me how to shorten a link
CocoLocoDiscoMan Jul 30, 2017 @ 7:56am
I just tested it and it works, however there are two spaces in that link as steam will otherwise remove it.
Tombow9855 Jul 30, 2017 @ 7:59am
Thank you it worked

@Limmin
I'm not planning on releasing a guide on the matter, if that's what you are asking.
Limmin Jul 30, 2017 @ 8:35am
OK, thanks. I imagine someone will do so.
CocoLocoDiscoMan Jul 30, 2017 @ 9:01am
That will surely happen, probably after most issues has been resolved with the game!

Ooh, that IS neat. I may download that at some point, in three or four patches.

Right on brother. I'm "mid game" now and kind of vexed I can't complete many jobs because of bugs, mostly missing parts and some truly bizarre ones too. I think I'll start over with a new profile once they've fixed all currently-identified issues.

It's more that I don't want to taint the dataset by changing variables, since I'm actively contributing to the bug report topic.

The only "taint" you will be doing is changing a txt-file with a name, nothing else. The name.txt files only contains the name of the vehicle in question. But I understand your point of course, however I don't think you have to be worried.

does this also replace the name when used on parts like found in the junkyard?
