open world
I would love this game in an open world environment. I would like to drive a tow truck around to pick up cars I buy or to help breakdown cars on the road or for calls. Also, why I buy parts, they should be delivered or I could also buy at a store and pick up myself. More realistic.

As far as i can remember someone suggested that before but yea i would like to see such a feature too. Maybe we will see something like that in the future. We are allowed to dream at least :P

For the delivery part you mentioned, well i would say that might be a nice thing for expert mode.

Love that idea, driving a tow truck around and picking up the cars that the customers are calling in for repairs. That would make a REALLY awesome Car Mechanic Sim game.

Man, I couldnt agree any more to this. SLRR has soooo many good ideas and most rather well implemented. The problem is that SLRR is very, very, very dated game and trying to keep it working on todays hardware is like trying to upgrade an old Pentium 4 machine. Yea, its still a semi-usful PC, expecially under basic office abilities, but at some point you really need to just start over, or simply let it die.

us modders have discussed this and dont think open world would work to well due to Unity engine and recent changes

Open world needs to be done at development level not mod level

its enough work adding cars and tracks let alone open world

Combine the open world of ETS2 and the garage of CMS18. That would be awesome :)

Id keep an eye on RevHead then, they list some similar features on their roadmap. You can fix customer cars in the current version, but the 'roadside assistance' feature is listed as later down the road.
Uh with the amount of bugs they launched this game with, I can only imagine putting it into an open world, where they have to do a lot more work, the bugs would probably quadruple lol

But yeah I do like the idea in itself, I'm just not sure if the devs are at a level yet where they could really deliver it without it being a gigantic mess
