Option to speed up the game/waves?
I just bought the game yesterday. I'm playing on 50% difficulty. Is there any way to speed up the game or the waves? I'm on day 36, and the next wave is on day 52. I think I have enough army/resources to defend the wave and move on to the next mission. Maybe a mod? Thanks!

Well, highest difficulty may be a bit much, but generally if you find yourself just passing time at the end of the mission then it means the difficulty setting is too low for you. Other than the difficulty setting, there is no way to speed up time or anything like that. (I don't know about mods; the game has a map editor and that seems to be the preferred way to "mod" the game.) Most games in the genre do have a speed setting, but I think the issue is that with so many things going on on screen at once, up to thousands of characters moving around, machinery running, smoke effects, etc. it would be too much for the game engine to handle if you tried to make it run faster. (Just my theory.)
Barely information.. survival? campaign? if survival you dont unlock maps at that diff so that may give you a clue about why it feels easy, in general each map is harder or forces player to different conditions... Also is easy to feel the game easy until you realize what is the ending wave all about.

If you are very good at your difficulty you will need to wait ages for the waves.

I likely could do 50% and spend a real-life hour waiting for the final wave cause it is too easy.

So increase your difficulty to 800% you will need to be very fast and even if you do full clear you will not have too wait much.

Now likely 200-300% will be better for you if you are skilled At RTS games.

If you play on survival you can decrease the time to 80 days so that should be enough.

The game does not have speed settings, but game speed will lower with performance.

If you have a strong PC(especially CPU) you can check fast timer optimization so the game will attempt to always run at max speed.
Weak PCs will get much worse performance with the setting.

If you are not still building houses, expanding your city and clearing the map of enemies, you probably will not survive the final wave.

It depends on campaign vs. survival mode. In campaign you have population goals and I generally stop expanding cities when I reach them. But yeah, the game is generally balanced well enough so that if you find yourself with a large amount of time at the end then the final swarm is probably going to be bigger than you think it will be. (Cape Storm comes to mind for me: "Let's see I've cleared the island, put in a pretty good defensive wall at the bridge, but somehow I sill have 10 days left before the swarm comes. How big could the final swarm be?")

I don't know why no one has mentioned yet. there's an option for "fast timer optimization" that speeds time up in survival mode.
