Game Speed Control
Am I missing it, or is there no way to speed up the game speed? These 66 day missions that I have a working setup for by day 40 and just have to alt-tab and wait an hour on are frustrating.

Unfortunately no. Try playing the campaign where you need to play that stupid defence mission which takes like literally 20 minutes to finish and there is 0 player input the entire time.

Game isn't very well designed, unfortunately. No mod support either.

It appears to be a real-time counter too, as I hooked up a modification program to speed the game runtime up and it affected everything but the days/hours count. Frustrating.

Higher difficulties lower the total days, sounds like you need to play the harder %s

To be fair, it's hard to tell when you start a mission if you're going to have extra time, and you can't change difficulty in the middle. But usually, even if you have time left over there things you can do, tweak your defenses, look for inefficient food production, add to your population, etc. If you really have nothing to do but let the game run in the background while you watch a video or something then you need to step up the difficulty for the next time. Also, to be fair, many games do have variable speed settings. But usually they only allow you to slow time down from "normal". The game allows for thousands of sprites on screen at the time time, and I have a feeling that if you sped up time things would start to go wrong performance-wise.

See that's the thing. I generally buy games to play, not as something to burn extra power in the background while I do other things in hopes of maybe getting to play later.

campaign was more of an issue with the hordes where you just ball soldiers up and then wait 30 minutes to clear them even on the highest %.

the missions were more or less fine, you wander around trying to squeeze out more workers or soldier production and then some towers to get them space on your walls. yes yes I know they would have held without that at day 40, but its the game to build walls good frigging walls. the zed exist to test your walls nothing more.

Bought this game, played it a little bit & my 3 son's. I & 1 of my sons ended up refunding because of a stupid bug that kept on resetting research to 0. Didn't effect my 2 other sons so I don't know what was causing it.

The final straw was the lack of being able to save the game like you can on the map section backup saves. And then there's the stupid zombies spawning in a walled off base that starts to wipe you out. No I didn't miss any, otherwise they would have attacked when I put buildings down.

Game was fun, challenging as I hate easy games. I just wish there was co-op mode because I'm sorry, but no one can complete this game on the higher difficulty settings, just impossible & anyone who says otherwise is a liar or cheated.

Wrong. There are many recorded examples of people doing it. There's also no reason why people can't just play on a different difficulty, there's no requirement to ever play on the highest one or close to that.
