What's up with the workshop maps??

Yo, why are all the workshop maps some strange Asian things? Are they the only people creating maps or the **** is this?

The "strange asian things" are the alphabet. Letters and words. To me, they are about the same as your Ä ä, Ö ö and Ü ü.

A map name written in chinese doesn't matter, you can play the map as you would normally. You can always copy the names into google translator and get a rough translation into your language too. Finally, there are also maps with english names if you require that.

There are plenty of English speaking maps out there, but in recent years the game has been propped up by mostly Chinese map makers, which to be fair are very popular and without them I don't know if there would be much fresh content made these days.

You just need to look deeper in the Workshop and beyond the front page. What sort of map are you after? I made a 24 map story campaign (Search "28 Years Later" and/or "29 Years Later") or if you're looking for single novel maps try The Dark Side by Zedd. There are many more but there's a lot of content beneath the surface trust me :)

I would like to be able to filter workshop content by language, not being able to read the description or the pop-ups does reduce the utility of the map.

I've played a bunch of the chinese made maps, and most of them are quite good. Some map makers even throw in english translations (although it appears googled in many cases). Most of them are very hard (difficulty). Recently there has been a spate of new maps, some not worth DL, others are very interesting. This is my go to game when nothing else excites me enough to play or I am waiting on DLC to play.

Alright, thanks for the replies. didn't ment my thread to be offending or something towards Asian people, I just couldn't wrap my head around it as I've never seen something like this before. I use many workshops from various games. But it's cool I've enjoyed some of these maps too so far.
