More ram dose help with it I went from 210 secs per train (should be 105 as per mission one per train) down to 120 secs per train by going from 16-32GB of 2100 mhz ddr4 ram.
Other comps specs don't really help with it tryed both overclocking cpu and gpu more to little effect just ram reduced it by a noticeable amount.
Other option is play on a lower diff as lesser amount of mobs.
It is not an fps issue. The lag has nothing to do with your graphics card trying to draw. The bottleneck is CPU and RAM speed to process the AI's movements and sound detection across the entire map, including everything in fog of war.
