market bug?
The tooltip for the market on the loading screen says the market sells excess resources automatically, but in the instances I've tried to verify this, it didn't seem like it did. TO be safe, I keep micromanaging selling stuff.

Can anyone confirm if they've seen the market sell excess resources?

The market certainly seems to work on my end. That said though, I try very hard not to let anything cap to begin with. It sells at a reduced price and for most of the game resources themselves mean more to me than the gold. Discounted gold.

My assumption is that it doesn't auto sell unless it's capped. I find that Gold becomes a bigger need as the game goes on.

Yes. It does autosell at cap. If you read my comment as anything other, that's not what I meant. As for gold; sure, it's important and I'd rather it from houses than discounted from my resources.

The market is working as intended. It only sels resources if a production building produces more resources than you can keep in storage. You may be failing to notice this because even with 3 markets, you need to have a very large economic surplus for market gains to be anything but minimal. Make no mistake, the market will make you 5-20k gold over the course of a game, depending on length and your ability to utilize your economy.

But it's my understanding that it's not a 1:1 ratio on returns, right?

If I sell stone for 5 gold manually I get the full 5. If I let it autosell, I don't get the full 5, whatever it is it's less than that.. Each time, I've checked this was the case.
