Campaign - The Resistance

So I'm a bit stuck and would like some advice. I'm at the map 'the Resistance'. 1 water whole in the middle, you have visibility over the whole map, and remnants of walls a bit everywhere.

The last horde is my problem. Always somewhere the defences fall and it's game over. Can anyone give some advice for this map?

the last horde isn't your problem.

Your problem is your economy, you are expanding too slowly which means you can't build a defense for the final wave.

what should your defence be then? You focus on your core or on the whole map at the edges?

Also: tips on economy also welcome....

On what difficulty are you playing ?
Do you maybe have a screenshot at the last wave ? we could give you more specific advice if we see your defenses and base at the end.

some general tips:
- 1 or 2 ballista and wood walls at each "point between 2 walls" should be enough before the last wave
- in the camapign tech tree get all soldier upgrades and all shock tower upgrades. Those will be your best units and towers
- watch the timer. since you only get colonists aka income with the train, always try to have your houses up before the train comes

on that map your best defense is soldiers in stone towers with shocking towers

Its the same as every map you want to expand your base to the edge's, utilizing the natural choke points.

Early game follow the standard wood workshop->farms, and then barracks producing soldiers.
Then shocking towers.

You should have a shocking tower ready to go up when the first wave, comes.

As your gold economy increases add another barracks produce more soldiers, repeat

build double walls on the edges, or on this map near to the edges utilizing the natural barriers.

Expand north west towards gold opening up land for houses
Also expand the core to the east, south east choke points, wall them up
then south west to get iron + stone don't spam cottages on the farm land, finally push south east and south west.

The core middle area of the map is for warehouse plus farm's,

Remember you are ALWAYS expanding in TAB, turtling is a mistake.

Thanks all for the tips. Allas I didn't take a screenshot at the end of last game. No way to get one now I guess?

Seems to me I first have to get the shocking tower... since I didn't research it so far... :)

IF you click F10 it makes a screenshot of the whole map, will be useful in your case, if you decide to show us your progress.

i have a tip you can try if you have unlock the wasp since wasps are effective at cleaning out trash you can set up picket lines with double stone walls around them and at least 4 wasps it will help to draw off some zombies away from your main deffence and thin them out if you have a massive swarm coming to a choke point this works well and is on the cheap side to do ( atleast for my set up). you can also use a squad of rangers to kit zombies away again braking up a swarm and luring them to said picket line of wasp turrets. this is how i did this map and the swamp map with the zombie spiters. note ive done this on Challenging difficulty. I hope this helps or atleast gives you some ideas good luck. side note incase you dont have points yet to unlock the shock towers i did this when i didnt have them

So I took the advice to heart and went full force ahead with shocking towers and executors. Went a bit over the top I think but in the end, easy...
