Speed Up Game Button?
Just wondering if there is a hotkey that makes the game go faster? The games I'm used to playing have like a 2, 3 or 4 times speed. It's great for speeding on past the slightly boring parts of waiting for something to build or a resorce to tick.

no there is not and there probably wont be one given that on 800% you dont need to speed up you need pause

If you need to speed up then you really must not be playing the game well, or your an absolute god. I dont think theres anypoint in this game where you are simply waiting.

A single mistake and youre Colonie is wiped out. With 4x Speed you musst be a God, likeandrew said. with 1.5 Speed maybe, but nothing more. It take only a few hit´s for an Infected to destroy the barrier of a Housing-Area, less than 10 Seconds or so, if you see them before they come near the Houses.
A big Housing-Area with 60 Tents/Cottages/Stone Houses take... less than 1 Minute to get infected. All this is on Normalspeed, so it take less then 15 Second on 4x Speed

Good Luck to get rid of them on 4x Speed

Ah I guess I'm just not good at the game since I find myself just siting and waiting for gold or wood or for a location to be cleared waiting for something to be built or researched it'd be nice to speed that up. I'm just used to fast paced games that can be finished in an hour or so and if not they have a speed button for slower games which this game feels like at 3-5 hours for one map.

your never not doing something if you find yourself waiting then your doing something wrong though during the first 2 days maybe a 2x speed only during day 1 when your waiting for the first 200 gold to come but thats it and yeah if you speed up your either a god or not that good

Waiting is not always because someone's doing something wrong. I've had that happen when I get a bad map RNG and don't have enough, say wood, to build stuff and keep getting bottlenecked on waiting for that next tic of 5-8 wood so I can build another simple little thing.

I think the worst I got it with wood was 6 wood/8 hours on the entire HQ screen, with another ~6 wood/8 hours about 1 screen north of the HQ and another ~4-5 wood a similar distance south. As soon as I saw that, I obviously just re-rolled it as that map was unplayable. Still, I was spending most of that game waiting for wood and coulndn't do a damn thing about it.

Maybe my issue is my maps then I was on day 30 once time and only 8 stone but was playing it. I had 10 wood on day 15 and the only other tree was on the other side of VoD.

I figured they factored into the RNG the diffacuty selected and gave more resources on easier setting.

no maps are entirely random though there are parameters taken there is no such thing as a "Unwinable map" just maps that are harder but by day 30 you should have 15+ stone as your gonna be pumpin out stone houses/banks/warehouses for econ

There are unwinnable maps. I had a 6 wood/tic map, and I had to explore 1 screen North of my HQ to find another 6 wood/tic grove of trees, and a similar sized one about the same distance south. There was NO OTHER WOOD anywhere on my map that I could explore with just the 4 rangers, 1 soldier starter army. There was NO WAY to get a solder center up AND get even rangers out faster then 2/ 8 hours on that map, or 1 tesla tower/16 hours. In other words, it was mathimatically impossible to prepare for even the 1st wave in time for the 1st wave.

My current map's also badly wood starved: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8tyntvbewjdbhps/FortNelson001.jpg?dl=0 I don't have enough wood to get based stone tier, at least not without severely crippling my production to the point of being too slow to keep up with the game. Without the Foundry and ability to builld Titans and thanatoses, i won't be able to clear out the 3 colosii, and my balistas won't be good enogh to stop them from smashing through my entire colony, especially not with the rest of the final wave to deal with too.

So no, the RNG IS capable of producing unwinnable maps. Not as bad as it did back in the winter, but it still does do it.

send your save file to the discord and people there "Not me i dont have time to do that sort of stuff" will prove to you it is indeed possible very very difficult but possible to win besides low wood is not the game killer that map is winnable cause to survive final wave all ya need are snipers a few stone walls and shock towers/balistas at the bare minimum but yes that map in the screenshot is winnable even with the scarce wood you would have a income of 24 wood thats enough to get a bank and get the econ rolling for sniper balls destroy a vod get a bunch of free wood push further clear entire map and push out for wood non stop it is winnable just very difficult

On Nightmare difficulty with 3 Infected Colosii?!

I've finsihed a Nightmare map already and the final wave will swamp anything less then Iron tier tech, especially the colosii, which can tank balista shots all day, and can destroy the short range shocking towers, before they could do anything. I have only 1 Thanatos I was lucky to get from a mayor and no hope of getting another one. Either I won't have enough power, I build several mills, using up my buildable area and workers, necicitating building more houses to have enough workers for the foundry, or I build a power plant, using up too much of my limited wood production to fuel it, so I won't have enough wood to build anything without significant waiting.

It may be possible for someone to figure out how to win it, but I don't see a way right now.

It's not any one thing that breaks this map, though the most telling is the lack of wood, but the combination of the zed pop, low wood, big lakes, and the presence of infected colosii strategically positioned to block 1/2 of the map from me being able to even see it without fighting them first, with just rangers, soldiers and snipers. Oh, and I do have a single Thanatos I got from a mayor, but he won't do any good against a colosus. They're best for hordes of little zeds.

with 40+ snipers you destroy giants and snipers dont use wood they use 1 worker gold and a small amount of iron trust me while its very difficult it can be done as i said theres no such thing as a unwinnable map the rng can be harsh but it is very much possible
Snipers also use 1 food, which is also becoming a problem as I'm running out of farmland on that map. As I said, I can't see any path to victory, I'm not saying there is none, and it keeps coming back to the way that map is layed out. Did you even LOOK at the map?

I simply DO NOT have the resources to support 40+ snipers without getting those advanced mills, and I do not have the resources to support the buildings I need in order to get those advanced mills. I've tried looking at all kinds of ways to beat this map, but every time I come up with a possible idea, another problem rears its ugly head and blocks my solution.

The main problem is power. I need more power, but I don't have the room to build enough mills to get more power. I'd need to upgrade them to advanced mills to get more power. I could build a power plant, but I don't have enough wood to support that AND still be able to build anything that uses wood after that, like the farms I'd need to support so many snipers.

So we're back to the advanced mills again, but I need more power to build the foundry I need to research advanced mills. That's called a catch 22. I need more power to do the research I need to get more power.

Like I said, every idea I see or gets suggested has another problem on that map that block me from implamenting it.

as i said idk how you would beat it but i see how its possible to beat it so lets do it like this start off do the usual things d1 expand etc etc get wood workshop and research farms build 1 farm get soldiers center by day 8 and start pumpin snipers build 1 balista to deal with wave and kite as needed expand with tents only and build mills as scarce as possible same with farms once you get 40 snipers clear a vod to give a much needed econ boost keep pumping em rush for forests to "finally get decent wood supply" also retreat behind 2 balista double layer wall as needed when clearing dont be afraid to retreat as needed or use rangers to kite get a few soldiers to tank if needed as i said with the wood on that map your looking at a +18 wood with 3 sawmills you can work with that though on a very small scale after clearing the vod build all the things you could not build a market build more mills and keep balistas up finally after 60 snipers destroy the giants and then continue playing as normal as i said if you can take out a vod it gives a massive econ boost you can use to bounce back after a weak start so yes idk if its possible on brutal/nightmare but with 100 days/nightmare it is possible based on this theory as i said ask some top tier players over on the tab discord im actually curious if it is possible as i think it is but i personally think that map is possible on any difficulty that is not 80 days
