Map clearing.
I keep trying to clear the map on brutal and it seems like every unit is pointless except mass snipers. I know they all have their uses but i tried a buch of titans and they arent to swift unless u have like 6 or 8 in a group.

ranger or sniper does the job becouse the other units are garbage.

You can clear the map with 20 soldiers and 10 snipers. It's easier though if you just take the 20-30 sniper blob. Snipers also seem to vet up faster than any other unit.

Titans are horrible for map clearing for two reasons:
- they enter the fray way too late
- they are way too expensive to field in appropriate numbers which is why even a group of 8-10 titans won't suffice to safely clear the map.

Yea thats excatly my thoughts

Sniper with 300 gold, unkeep 5 you get 45 DPS and potential to be 101 DPS after 700 gold research.
Titan with 2000 gold, unkeep 40 you get 100 DPS and that is after 6000 gold research.
You can see the difference here is so high. By the time you get your first titan (8000 gold), you properly have enough snipers to clear the map.

Not that I disagree, but Titans have 5x the health something like 10x the movement speed so simply saying 'they cost more but do the same dps' means nothing. And for what its worth they do splash damage.

And they have a smal AOE on damage

yeah Titans usually come up sort of late and only when the economy is booming with nothing to spend on... but they are very fast and terrific as either backup units for when some sides are having a hard time or really for cleaning up the entire map that the sniper balls missed or just cannot reach on time. Many times sniper balls get lost too far in the map that they go out of place when a horde comes in, it's nice to have titans take over while I set them on their final tower positions before the final waves

What is this 700g research you mention? Is it the one you research to be ably to train snipers?

10-12 Titans can clear the map pretty quickly and destroy village of dooms without retreating. Not to mention they are very useful for the final wave to quickly fortify areas that suddenly needs reinforcement since they move pretty quick not to mention they are very tanky and the small area damage they deal.

You can leave a group of Titans on chase mode and won't be afraid of them dying even when dealing with a large group of running zombies . . . as long as you keep checking your map and see that they are still moving together as a group.

Pretty much all comes down to economy. If you have a great economy Titans are still worth it.

I tried auto-clearing with 6-8 titans which was a disaster. They died like flies when running into spitters.
Do 10-12 titans vs. 6-8 make such a difference between disaster and world beater? I'm not doubting it, could be the threshold needed to blast away all enemies, just like the difference between 15 (fragile) and 25 snipers (invincible).

6-8 Titans is pretty low if you're clearing the map with them at 100% & above score factor and even more so when you're leaving them alone on chase mode. Also did you set them to prioritize special zombies?

The problem with Titans is you need a good economy and finding the 2nd Oil resource to build them since you need them to be in a fairly big group(atleast 10) for them to be effective if you want to massacre the whole map.

Of course, everyone set on high priority except for Thanatos.
I'm somewhat intrigued to try the titan map clearing once. Sounds fast and convenient.

However, there's one other major drawback:
Titans don't vet up --> map clearing with 30 snipers will give you 30 vet snipers for almost double combat power on towers.

Well it depends on what you're comfortable with. Since I'm pretty much focus on expansion early-mid game (for economy) then clearing the map on the later part of the game I have resources to build up Titans and have the economy to spam executor towers.

Here's some screenshots on one of my older game on map 3 with no other units built except for Rangers (for expansion) & Titans (for clearing). It's only 100% though.
