the pips are just there to give players an idea of how hard the actual mission is and yes 2 skull missions give more score than 1 skull
Difficulty tiers: increase zombie population & decrease timers on wave attacks (by a direct percentage, ie Nightmare = 5x increase ?)
Mission pips: representative, give you an idea how it compares to past missions
Appreciate the insight, thanks again
It increases both zombie population on the map and wave size.
Decreases total number of days available to finish mission, which means waves come sooner.
im not sure the exact numbers
but heres how it works in survival "btw wanna text out difficulty impacts go in to a survival game and play like the first 5 days on easy and then again on nightmare you will see the difference 5 seconds in to the game start"
so on challenging "standard pop" is the standard % modifier of infected pop i know that every difficulty below challenging decreases the base % of infected while everything above it increases %
on brutal it increases number of infected by 15% and then nightmare "this part i think though not certain" increases the amount of infected ON BRUTAL by 30% so a rougly 60% increase from challenging "I think"
low zombie pop decreases number of infected by about 10% and i dont know the numbers on others but i do know on easy there is like no zombies so im gonna guess and say 50% decrease though im not certain
it does not just affect the amount of infected but also density at the start of every survival game you have this small "buffer" zone where there are no infected well the higher the difficulty the smaller the size of this buffer zone thus forcing you to have to start clearing much earlier as well as making the early game much harder
and then of course number of days if you have 150 days to prepare vs 80 days well lets just say 150 gives you nearly double the time so its a lot easier than 80 as you have to acomplish the same tasks in nearly half the time
Based on it, I've just tried starting over on Brutal difficulty, much prefer the heavier zombie populations, I wonder how far into the game I'll get before I commit suicide or start raving about strange random ♥♥♥♥ as I draw pictograms all over my walls in various bodily fluids (which I've also smeared in my hair, skin & clothing).
If the game on Brutal DOES NOT induce total mental breakdown, I'm going to add it to my CV and apply for a job as an air traffic controller.
if your talking about campaign then the actual missions wont induce a mental breakdown it will be when you take the wrong tech have no way to refund get stuck on a mission cause you did not
have the required tech and be forced to restart the entire campaign
