I like her more than the slow hulk.
Player preference. There are later hero missions where you enter areas completely packed full of infected. Aoe does wonders in those situations. With her you have to run and gun, dodging and kiting as you slowly whittle down the hoard. With him you become a stationary weapons platform laughing as you blow huge chunks out of the hoard. One style suits some people the other style suits different people.
But....grenades. Calliope does not lack for a way of dealing with packed situations. Grenades may be limited, but so are the situations in which you "need" them. In fact, I would say there are more grenades than I use anyways.
Player preference doesn't mean much if I'm saving a significant amount of travel time by going calliope.
As I said I certainly prefer speed over aoe and toughness, but there is an argument to be made for both. So it comes down to player preference. Clearly like me you prefer speed and maneuverability so you like her more.
Calliope will save travel time, but Caelus will save killing time as he deals with running into a horde of 100 infected quicker then Calliope can.
Ok good point I haven't turned the difficulty all the way up, so it could be that grenades aren't sufficient. Honestly I'm pissed right now because I'm stuck with callus on my most advanced campaign. My first campaign was a flop that ended with teching to a wonder I couldn't afford, but I had calliope on that run and now I miss her.
edit: btw since ur on a later mission...is there any reason to upgrade callus's damage? He already does 71 base damage which is enough to one shot everything under a fatty. Maybe 1 damage upgrade to be able to kill execs in one hit is enough? I don't think the perks make that much difference but I'd still like to use them "optimally" if I can.
I imagine that defense/life is pretty useless but would like confirmation, as well as any suggestions on reload/attack speed/damage which to prefer in which situations.
What perks do you find useful on your calliope? Does the reload speed help a lot?
