Esp as that wave was harder than the waves from the same diff mission that doesn’t require clearing and only spending all game getting ready for one wave so the map was quite a bit out of line with the intended diff.
this isnt a linear campaign, storm cape isnt a roadblock mission that must be beaten before you can progress further. you can wait and do other missions until you have better tech to make the final wave more manageable. over nerfing the final wave just destroys what would have been an epic "holy crap" moment from the campaign. Nightmare mode is supposed to be challenging, and you are supposed to trial and error this game (not flawless victory 100% it first try), its not meant for people who cant think outside the box and go: "omg i cant beat that wave, game broken"
no, you have options:
1) do other missions, get more research pts and then try it again with better tech and different strats
2) lower the difficulty
awesome, i figured it was a mistake, the difference was insane. thanks for the fast response!
I now feel like I shouldn't have won that mission T_T
More time. Less zombies. The 2 things that define difficulty, immediately heavily modified. Almost feels like devs selling out to cater to some noobs who never played an RTS before, have zero interest in RTS and are here purely because the game is popular and they are mainstream gamers and feel like anything slightly popular must be for them.
What's next? Give soldiers a permanent damage boost? Make tents house 8 colonists instead of 4, because people mention "tent placing simulator" once or twice? How about give every tent their own minigun on top of it to stop stragging zombies. And a nuke button for when you get into trouble, clearing all zombies from your screen.
Maybe just add a free "cheat DLC" for everyone to use instead? Make things less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up for people that actually want to be challenged.
Devs must try to not be influenced so easily by every single complaint. Some of those complaints are based on heavy inexperience or other unreasonable things. And people must stop complaining about every little bit they don't immediately agree with or feel burdened by for some reason.
Can't be that balanced towards you if it wasn't even worth paying for, can it?
the latest patch bumped it back up, the first patch had a typo in it..
nothing from Gomez's comments lead me to believe they were doing this to appease us..
they are patching it to match what dev's intended on the level. that is all
http://prntscr.com/o5c2e6 I had turrets/walls leading all the way to my HQ on Storm Cape, and i still lost (on hard)
All the campaign mode needs at the moment is some way to respec the tech tree, and let people save the campaign progress if they so wish. Iron man should be an optional challenge.
http://prntscr.com/o5dz6p Can confirm that 47 ballistas and 250 soldiers will beat it.
I hope they never do that, that would ruin the campaign.
