They're cheaper indivdually, 300 gold and about 10 iron. They have decent damage output, and only occupy one tile each. Four Wasps on 4 tiles versus one Ballista, the Wasps will outperform the Ballista easily.
Furthermore, Wasps do not draw agro from zombies, at least until they start firing. This actually means you can build them close to Zombies and they will not move towards them until they are finished and fire, also, zombies will ignore them over attacking Humans.
Their disadvantages, further in the tech tree. More expensive per tile, and they are somewhat taken over by end game Executioners.
They are a worthy addition to your arsenal, I believe.
PS: One of the end game techs has your train deliver a free Wasp every visit, this can prove very powerful, free daily Wasps can really help you push your expansion very quickly.
I thought the only new unity is the mutant.
I saw that last tech that delivers a wasp, but I'm not putting points on that branch so far.
They are pretty strong. Their DPS is significantly higher than a soldier's - I think 20 damage per shot 3 (maybe 4) times per second.
on the attack thing they cost 40 points and will attract attention to them self, while soldiers dont 1 shot they can move and cost half of the points
thats from what I have noticed so far
You might have to research them.
You might consider it. That branch they sit on is one of the best in the game. Many high end strategies recommend getting the shipments (at least up to iron...) almost right after unlocking shock towers. Those train shipments probably offer the very best early game advantage and allow you to quickly get the soldier center out.
