Campaign Difficulty?
What is so difficult about the campaign? I have constantly been able to full clear the map easily on nightmare difficulty and have just been waiting to place tents or wait for the final wave.
Hardest thing so far has been the pixel hunting for the imperial and research points. That is trash game design.

I can get it being difficult if you do not know how to econ, but yeah. I do think the campaign is challenging but the hero missions are soooooo boring and tedious. Nightmare mode has been very doable.

I think a lot of people don't have a ton of hours into survival like some of the vets so I can see it being pretty hard going in blind. I don't really have trouble with the game either, but I can understand where they are coming from.

Feels good to finally have a strategy game with good difficulty but there are still some very questionable design choices. Why require certain population goals? The difficulty of the map should force you to eco that much. Not have some arbitary do you know how to spam houses objective.

The swarm missions are also questionable in design choice. I imagined it being more offensive oriented instead of always being on defense. Not hope the horde walks into your traps.

I'm quite sure the pop goals is one way for the devs to avoid the standard cheesing strats people have been using in survival. Which is destroy every single one of your buildings to get more resources and build defenses around the command center as defenses start to fall. With a certain population needed as the minimum to pass this directly make that approach unviable.

I can see that being a possibility. Only issue is that people having a hard reaching the pop requirement will not be capable of carrying out this cheese.Pop requirements just feel backwards in terms of design. The pop requirements for maps are so high, you will have more troops and resources than you could ever need to beat the map.

I haven't played it much, but I'm up to these first two tower defense maps, and it seems there might be a bit of a balancing issue with it.. it could also be because I've only got access to archers, and to complete them I should restart and get the soldiers if they can be placed..

But yeah, I'm basically stuck unless I put the difficulty down, but that just seems like a waste

Are you not able to change techs? I am able to. Soldiers and traps are the way to go. Soldiers are NEEDED to clear the tower defense maps. The archers biggest strengths are mobility and low noise generation which are useless in a tower defense setup.
