Please Get Rid of Defead Count
Nobody can beat all missions with the first attempt and we gotta start over everything to wipe the defeat count.

I was happy to see the campaign release and it looks fun, I thought the game is finally worth to play. However, I think you devs got problems in personalities. You want to waste my time in multiple ways and trying to ruin the fun.

The rage began several months ago. I was really mad to the survival mode due to no save and load. I was not happy when i finally beat the 800% because i deserved it after nearly 30 attempts. RNG also played an important role in the game and its not all about my skill.

The campaign , I beat the first few missions without any problem. Then i found the missions got a lot harder and its nearly impossible to win in the first attempt. I am fine to keep trying the current mission until I beat it but the defeat count immediately ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off. What is your point to mess with players with the defeat count? Doing the first few missions are not fun to me anymore because there is no other way to reset the defeat count of the further missions.

Does the defeat count ever do anything though? I was under the impression that it's just poor flavour text.

Defeat count and victory points means nothing. It's like your vanilla steam achievement. So unless you're some meaningless achievement junkie, it shouldn't bother you that much.

Reduces the amount of Victory Points the mission is worth, which reduces your overall campaign score.

AKA, defeat count means sweet FA and the Victory Points don't matter.

All problems related to it exist only in the player's head.

This is one of the funniest complaints i have ever read. So OP is not good enough to 100% the game on the first try, so it is a bad game? The logical of this is breathtaking.

I am not saying the game is bad, i was saying the devs are bad. they always add some useless stuffs to ruins the fun game.
Why do you think defeat count should exist ? why do you need it there ? I am pretty sure people wont care if they are going to remove defeat count

It's physiological but beyond that the complaint is low on my list compared to the rest. It would have the same impact even if it didn't take away victory points

I wouldn't interact with EvilGenius, he's been provoking attacks for a bit now.

Nope. I want to see how many times it took me to win. If you can't handle losing you might want to try a different game.

I agree that the purpose of the defeat count isn't clear. There are many different indicators in the game and it would be good to more clearly state what they mean so that users could tell whether they matter. I couldn't care less about steam points myself. It's a single player game.

I dont think there is any gamer cannot handle losing nowadays. The defeat count is not losing, it is just a kind of bad record that marked you with loser. I guess you only read my title because I already mentioned that I am fine to keep trying it in my post.

The defeat count will not help you to record your attempts because it is not bound to difficulty. A person who lost 10 times in nightmare just one shot easy mode. This does not mean that he really need 11 attempts to beat the mission if he switched to easy mode earlier.

Nonono... all of these "learn how to lose" arguments are freakin dumb. The defeats count is dumb as hell. The only thing it serves is mocking the player for trying and making him feel his save file is now "tainted". Like some mentioned here, it serves NO purpose. I am in a SINGLE PLAYER game, I to not need to show off any statistics and I have no need to learn from them. Defeat count is like going to kids telling them "you lost 7 points in this exam" instead of telling them "you scored 93 points". It is "NEGATIVE RIENFORCEMENT" and I for the life of me have NO clue why one would want his game to !@#$s on a player that is interested. Why discouragement instead of encouragement? How about a score that leaves you with how many missions you finished with only one attempt instead of a score system that only keeps up with how many failures you've had? BOTH system would show almost the EXACT same thing, just one points out the good while the other the bad.
I have been discouraged out of this campaign twice now. I DON'T want a system that keeps up with my failures and !@#$s on what I do good. And I am a LONG time RTS player and never in my life did I go through an RTS campaign that was going out of it's way to remind me of my mistakes along the way. I would NEVER complete achievements in SC2 nor would I reach Diamond league if I wasn't good dealing with my mistakes. But this isn't "dealing" with them, that's the developers trying to rub them in my face and THAT is just being !@#$ty. For that only I'd vote down the entire game... Only reason I don't is that the rest of the game is good and they are an indie company.

Life can but !@#$ty enough and remind us of our failures. Some of us have awesome parents for that. To a person that uses games to escape such judgmental internal or external criticism, this is a punch in the face. Developers, if you are reading, why do you want to punch your costumers faces?
