And building defenses close to your command center is terrible waste of resources.
That map is the exact opposite of what you should be looking for.

Wouldn't want to do it on the highest diff due to mutants being added but with the diff your on def looks doable. It would still prob be possible on the highest diff with mutants as iron nearby to get soldiers to deal with the first mutant but it would be hard and vary vary slow early game sitting there with next to no economy till you can move out.
Wish you could give the map save number and I could change the diff after to try it on the harder diffs. But game will only allow you to pass the seed on the same diff dunno of a way to change diff after.
More of a challenge map to me, felt like i was playing the dark moorlands map again
I would be skipping market and going to ballista + farm early. Go for slow expansion and clear the vods he mentioned. This will give the resources to make up the loss of the slow start and lots of room for good housing bays from there.
Using a shock + sniper build would need lesser income and resources overall to win allowing for a much slower start.
Would it be a challenging map ya but would be fun.
One hell of a first map on the frozen highlands. Free wall completely covering the whole north side. That VoD is a tad bit scary. I really wish you could rotate the cells so i can place the tents horizontally or vertically for easier placement instead of just diagonal, would make for a nice and tidy well built housing area with no fear of zombies coming in from the north. Sadly there is no good source of stone. One thing i always notice when it comes to map generation is, you can get a perfect strategic placement like this one, then it totally screws you out of stone, iron or wood.
Def saving this map. Hoping the south has some stone nearby i can extend to quickly.
The wall stops at the very edge of the eastern part of the map, looks like the west might be the same. But theres no stone other than where the VoD is, luckily there was a treasure pile of 20 stone nearby enough to make the soldier's center.
This is a pretty solid map, though the final wave might be bad since north and east share the same chokepoint, doubling or even tripling the amount of zombies from that 1 side.

there is a map in the workshop which looks like that one and gets 2 waves hitting on both sides but allot more extreme
I lost on the final wave as my eastern defense wasnt strong enough and also because i ran out of time and i couldnt take out the giant or the mutants in time(i'm also slow as hell lol) my APM is low, but im replaying this map now that i know where everything is and this attempt is going so much smoother because i can extend faster
i was the same with APM until i played tri city riots in the workshop. loads of resources to start with and just made it about how long i could last until the waves overwhelmed me took me 3 months and roughly 30 attempts but got past day 72 lol
Every survival attempt i do i try to make them sooner. My mind gets overwhelmed with what i need to do/build next then i get sidetracked and spend all my resources then realize i was saving those for something
. Example, i just researched the engineers workshop. 10 minutes later, i realize i never made it because i tried researching thanatos.
been there often, its when i start to lose concentration and i know i need to either hit pause and give myself 2 minutes to think or just shut it down for the day.

Appears to be no possible way to get to that huge chunk of zombies on the map, or to the mutants.
And one of my rangers somehow managed to clip through a wall of trees and got killed by a harpy right next to that chunk of red by the radar tower. There's no possible way to get in there so i have to deal with all of those, plus the 2 mutants on the final wave. Oh god lol
