Campaign "Hero maps": Make them optional please.
They're boring. It's not like they're a challenge or anything, they're just plain and simply boring for me. They take way to long to do, you have to hover every pixel to gather the research points and stuff, and... it's boring, in case I forgot to mention it.

I don't know if any of these will be on the "required" path for the campaign since I'm only like... 6 maps in, but even if they aren't, since they provided resources (science and manpower) that are taken into account for the game to be balanced, they are de facto required.

Please add an option to disable these, and give the "average resources" they would give.

Thanks.

i think if you could bring 4 soldiers into the mission they would be quite fun. but as they currently stand i think you are right. they are not entertaining in the slightest. pro tip though if you click on a zombie one after the other the charecter shoots faster. its a glitch but one that makes the mission slightly more interesting.

They are tutorial like missions, just set them to the easiest en you can practically run through them.

i disagree with them being tutorial like. they teach very little about the game maybe some introduce some units but later missions such as the omicron laboratory have lessons that are pretty pointless as im sure there are (small spoiler) no infected tubes in other missions

Disable them, or make the Hero OP as ♥♥♥♥ so you can run through them.
That slow walk and slow shooting is killing me. I like the idea, but the execution needs work.
Play the StarCraft 2 Hero Missions - Find out why those were fun, and come back.
They were fast, well pased, no repetative Shoot Shoot Shoot x 300000 tiemes.
- More Hero abilities to be added, and used in puzle like scenarios.
- Faster and more OP heroes
- More interplay with standard units. Soldiers fighting and you rescue them, some late game units/towers that you can use in the early stages for specific reasons, just to wet the taste of new players for what cool stuff they will unlock later.
- A bit more story-in them. They are perfect for story-bits to be inputed in the missions or the collectables.

I think I'll leave the game right now, and come back when some more polish is added. Right now the campaign is too unpolished.

And the kill the hoard with soldiers and wooden planks missions need a lot of love more.

I thought they were optional? They never lead to more missions. Although the pints you get from them is so vital. I didn’t mind before but I just did the steel kill and that was an hour of fun...

Btw guys, I'm proud of everyone that contributed to this post; it was kept civil! :-D

The only thing I wish they change is the collectibles. Make the empire/research points total not be collectibles and awarded for finishing the mission.

Leave the collectibles in and only make them give more high score. Dont really like wasting time trying to find the hidden ones to get my points, it kills the pacing.

I liked them at the beginning, but find them a little tedious now. They only take about 20 minutes to do but it feels like a lot longer. It is a shame given all the effort that was put into the artwork for them, that the levels themselves were not better utilised.

One of my wish list for this mission is to have veterancy added to the hero unit. And for also for the level cap to be set higher.

I honestly wish there as one or 2 more personally :)
It is a little more relaxing and a nice little short break in between the crazyness I love so much of the horde style stuff :)

Maybe have an option when people start a new game to pick how many hero missions,etc.. they want. 100%, 50%, 25% or none.

I forgot about SC2 PvE, thx.
That's why I dislike them so much, because they were done waay better in the past.

I found out there's a cheat engine which I was hoping to skip the hero & swarm missions, but I don't believe that it works with the campaign yet.

They are optional the same way having a job is optional: You technically don't need to do it, but without the resources it provides, you're not going to have a good time.

I mean when you're giving 400 research points per hero mission to the 260 you're getting from regular missions I really have to wonder just how optional they really are. Few people can turn down that many research points.
Operation40 Jul 5, 2019 @ 6:21am
^^^ exactly, there is nothing 'optional' about them. they are not 'bonus'..
these words do not mean what the devs think they do
