alt f4 saves game ???
So no manual save game and now alt f4 saves game before exit ??? . can they get any worse ?..
THE alt f4 kept some of us playing , now you do this ??? WHY ?... Do you only want elite players that has to many hours to play ??... So if we have no time to play we can not save and have to start again ???? this is JUNK...

Given that the existance of alt+f4 to close the game, allowing you to redo a part of the mission, was never intended to be used for that purpouse, I actually find it pretty funny to be happening if true xD

This game was designed to have consequences. It's the entire concept around it. You can still always keep a back up save but I don't see how fixing an exploit is a bad thing?

Apparently task manager still works. But i agree its dumb. I only have few hours to play a day on days i can play. So not having checkpoints or save points makes me not want to play the campaign at all

I do not care , they can shove the game where the sun dont shine . No save game is a killer for me , i do not have hours on end to play, It is BAD design not to have save in campaign .. At least now i know to stay away from their games..

Huh?
Why can't you save manually?
Or do you mean, you want to save and reload at a different point in the mission?

Currently you can save mid mission. Just hit the menu button or escape "Save and Exit".

Nevermind, I think I know what you're asking for (based on your other thread).

To be fair, relying on autosave was iffy at best. Best to make manual backups once in a while, if that's what you want to do.

That said, I find it quite impressive how much they're doubling down on shoving ironman down everybody's throat, considering how that's clearly not something a large chunk of the playerbase wants.

Just to clarfy. Saves so dont have to restart a 2 hour mission from the start. Saves work fine for stopping and coming back the next day

exactly. ever since the survival mode was the only thing and campaign was a distance thought that 'it could solve problems' ppl said they didnt want ironman and it should be optional.

for 'survival' mode it makes sense obviously. for campaign though there is no sense in making it into another survival mode. this is what i really hated about their announcements about campaign and how it turned out. they basically just made it survival mode with more frustration. since you have less tech, less space to work with, no immediate workers, railroads that get in the way of building things, etc. ... and you still have to deal with time limitations and swarms for a lot of it.

yeah but this isn't XCOM type of "consequences" where a bad move could get one of your vets perma killed. This is the stupid time waste "consequence" where if you play for 2 hours and build ever so slightly wrong congrats you wasted 2 hours and have to do the same boring repetitive early-mid game the exact.same.way. Excluding that extra wall that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you last time. It is not fun and it isn't a "consequence" because what do you lose in a game sense? Nothing at all only your real life time you put into it. Vet units don't carry over, there are no named units or hero units to lose. You start over every mission, if you fail the mission you literally just wasted time and like -10% on your final score (who gives a ♥♥♥♥). XCOM had real consequence to your actions, possibility of you losing your favorite soldiers but still completing the mission and going on without them. Let me kick a dead horse yet again. Waste of time.
