Buildings off/on how?

So got the game really enjoying it anyway i keep seeing people talking about turning buildings off and on but i have no idea what they mean. Can you turn them off and if so how?

When you click on a building on the bottem right pannel you will have an option to pause the building, it just looks like a regular pause button.

You can turn off production buildings (like sawmills etc) by using a button in the context menu when you click on them. This frees their workers and energy to do different things until you turn them on again without you having to delete the whole building.
