Lucifers even worth it?
They are the coolest unit in the game, love the design of this unit type. But I never find myself creating them in the end game as its not worth it when you favour Thanatos or Titans instead. Are they even worth it? Even once you get the facility to create them you are probably researching Thanatos and Titans already.

I am not sure of their purpose even. Lucifers are melee range with awesome flamethrowers but with that lack of range makes it difficult to find any proper use for them. They can probably be used from behind walls but if you have multiple tier walls and sections its kind of moot to even be using them.

If anything I see them as a last line of defence but if you play properly with your defenses that is never going to happen anyway.

place 1 IN FRONT of your walls at every chokepoint, cover them with snipers in towers and let them do their "magic", if you place 2 or 3, even max population "endwave" gets burned completely

They're used as wall fillers. If a wall breaks then Lucifers can hold the line long enough for your soldiers to evacuate or maybe even mop up the rest of the horde.

Never thought of placing Lucifers in front of your wall, seems risky but I might give that a try. When the last wave hits I am not sure of they can survive, even with proper backup, as they should just get swarmed.

Yea, the only use I found for them is suicide tanking in front of the gates. Compared to other units they are pretty useless, better get another thanatos.

Oh, Lucifers are tanky as hell. Sure, massed attack on them are gonna win but not without heavy casualties.

This, so much This. In one game I had 2 or 3 Lucifers entranched inside of every outer wall along with a few solders to cover the closest enemies. Then behind the back layer of wall I have snipers, executors and thanatus. The Lucifers almost never survive the final wave lol. Well except the one who was at a wall that wasn't attacked and starved to death when my main town hall fell Q.Q

They are useless, because why not just build a single wall behind your walls with a gate, so you can evaculate your own soldiers or units while the enemy is stuck against that wall.

You are better of having a thanatos raining damage and mass murdering tons of minions from a huge distance as those flame throwers eat up oil.

AS I said, on max population, 3 Lucifer in front of your gate, Towers with snipers against "high level"-infected, maybe a Thanatos behind, but you seem to underestimate the Lucifers, 3 of these "melt" through every wave, they don't "shoot", if enemies are close they just spit fire till they die or the infected are burned, so if you are able to take out harpies and fatties, 3 Luci's on 1 chokepoint make an amazing firework and I nearly never lost a single Luci on the final wave.

Edith: And I never play below max population, since I beat the first map on medium.

well, only thing I wonder: You have a gold income of around -3,5k, on 1 screen, you have 5 or 6k, max gold, full, then your gold drops to 4,6k something, keep in mind you have 3,5k negative income.... something smells like CE or other stuff.... but I never trust those "click-♥♥♥♥♥♥" on twitch/yt/etc

I honestly have no idea, diden't notice at the time, and not sure what CE is short for :p

lucifers serve their role excellently, the problem is that their role is pretty lack luster. a tanky unit that can't fire over walls? you're better off spending resources on literally anything else tbh.

Lucifers cannot shoot through walls, but they can shoot through gates. They don't have to be completely unprotected out front.
Unleashed3k Jan 1, 2018 @ 8:39am
They can fire through walls, but you have to micro them, otherwise it would be to easy.

I teach people about this game all the time on stream... strategy, math, tactics, min/maxing, you name it... Come check out the stream sometime, you will learn a lot more than watching most of the other streamers... this is what MANY people have told me, not my personal opinion...

I have been playing RTS games since before most people who will read this post were born and I was the equivalent of a SC2 Grandmaster back in 2010. :praisesun: (this was before they added more ranked tiers)

Lucifers CAN in fact shoot through not only single layer but also double layer walls as well. (this DOES NOT actually require ANY micro if before the fight you place them as close to the walls as possible) This is a fact, I do this all the time on stream, don't listen to the tooltip hints. Lucifers also heal 40-50 HP PER TICK!!! which is actually insane compared to other units... don't underestimate how amazing Lucifers are.

Also, Titans are mathematically the worst unit in the game, so just skip them until they are fixed...

Veteran Soldiers are the best unit in the game, with nothing else even in the same ballpark. Thanatos are great for base defense but essentially a waste of time outside the base walls. A single Harpy can kill about 3 Thanatos before they even switch to their buggy/terrible melee attack which does laughable damage (which is why they should never be leaving the base walls ever). Also any OIL units you clear the map with are taking away from potential Veteran Soldiers you could have had....

Moral of the story, Build Soldiers, Veteran Soldiers, Build More Soldiers... Win!!!
