Horizontal and Vertical Gates...?
This game.... IS AMAZING!
Love it to death!

I especialy like the new art of the mayors, and that they are basicly level upgrades through the game. Awesome!

One thing I'd love to se being implamented would be the ability to rotate gates to function diagonly between the building blocks - so you can angle your entry ways easier.
I know this game, in it's current state of survival mode only, is meant to be "this is what you got... WORK WITH IT!".
But I don't see how not being able to rotate a building like the gate would work.
I mean, the wall system works great with building straight lines, diagonaly and what not. Wish the gates worked the same way. :)

I hope you consider implamenting this, or have already plans for it and just not gotten around to it yet.

I suspect it has to do with a combination of pathing and the way buildings are sized. A gate stretches over 3 directly adjacent squares, but in order to place a gate strictly horizontal/vertical, it'd need to stretch over 3 indirectly adjacent squares, which would mean the gate needs to be stretched, since the distance between the occupied squares is greater. Based on observation, I would assume that pathing also requires unobstructed adjacent squares for traversal, which means it would be problematic to have layered gates since they can't be placed directly next to each other without being displaced half a square. For walls this doesn't matter, as they are just a single square that essentially just needs to block pathing, but for a gate it might cause issues. Try building a layered horizontal wall with an opening for units in it and you might see the problem.
