question or statement? xD

I think it's a question. I would say yes but they're situational. The Energy cost of 30 is high but if you use 1 to cover a good choke point they might be worth it.

My question is, if you put a Shock Tower behind a double wall and get the horde to stampede PAST it on the way to the CC, would that work better because it would pulse several times along the horde as it passes?

the zombies hardly maze to that extent they just get vision on a building and a-move onto it instead of going for a sort of priority

They are not worth it as they are very vulnerable to all the special infected. Chubbies are almost unfazed by this tower, spitters stay out of range and harpies can manage to get a hit or two by jumping over the walls before getting killed (it depends if they enter the range right after the tower fired or not).
Considering specials are the main issue during the last wave (which is really the only difficult wave), they are not worth the investment.

Yesterday I lost my game on the final wave. I built 2 Gun Turrets behind the two square wall and in front of it I built 2 Shock Towers. They work very good against trash zombies but they are easily destroyed by Sputter Zombies.

From my opinion, It can be useful to place 1 tower in the front line but placing 1-2 Tanatos can be more efficient. The only problem is that they use -1 Oil as maintenance and there are not so many placec where you can build Oil Platforms when Windmils and Power Plants can be built in any place.

As far as I can see they are basically replaced by two, maybe even one thanatos. Without nasty habit of being killed by spitters right away AND without terrifying 30 energy upkeep cost.
They are godly in killing trash, and apparently they have no limit on how many they kill, and they kill everything in 1 shot (iirc that is). Sadly, their range, price and avaibility makes them sub-par as of now

The best place to put shocking towers is inside chokepoints where trees or cliffs block ballista/executors shooting till zombies are right on top of them. These points are about useless for executors, but ideal for shocking towers. The trees/cliffs block line of sight on the towers against spitters, while the shocking tower wipes out the horde bunching up on your walls

One shock tower costs 30 energy and is dead as soon as the spitters in the horde reaches it.

30 energy are enough to get 1 oil rig which can supply 10 thanatos (or 12 if you have a warehouse).

single shocktower that only reach 1 cell beyond your defenseline, placed on the main approach, can be useful, but as Klingenmeister said, Thanatos is always and in any case the better choice, if you place units on "hold" Thanatos fires his first shot even faster.

Okay, I stand corrected - shock towers have around 150 damage. Therefore they can 1 shot everything apart from fatties and maybe harpies. Which is still good, but not godly.

I read that shock towers dont need visibility to attack. If thats true, they can be placed behind 1-2 thick forest and attack without getting attacked back. Havent tested it yet and havent seen proof of that.

That is right, tested this with forest and mountain-lines, they activate as soon as an infected enters their range, they don't care about any obstacle.

I guess that is why their range is so limited, otherwise they would be "OP"

I have seen one fire through montains and another one through forest. I don't know if it is intended or a bug.

Nice if true, but way too situational and specific. I sadly can't even see balancing them out. Making them cheaper in energy and stronger against spitters will make them OP. Leaving them as is making them loose efficiency race against thannies and executors

If you place them well, 1 on every main "horde-route", in the 2nd line, will do miracles when the game decides to throw 70% of the last wave onto 1(!!!) direction.
