Tips and Tricks: For those who needs to unlock the next maps :)
So I just wanna help out those who hasn't gone past the first map yet on 100%+. Also I will provides some videos at the end(and if needed to be taken down due to policy or some♥♥♥♥♥♥I will).

So 1st map is literally the easiest bloody map on this game. It gets harder the next map you unlock:

1st map - plenty of choke, wide variety of dark zones for houses and crucial buildings and green zones for food. Zombies are a bit passive but still aggressive per between waves.
2nd map - wide areas, limited chokes unless you expand early. PLENTY of green areas for farms and somewhat sand area for houses and crucial building. Zombies aggression is same as first map.
3rd map - basically 1st map with snow. 30% increase in enery cost of buildings. Zombies are more passive.
4th map - ♥♥♥♥ the environment, ♥♥♥♥ the chokes, and ♥♥♥♥ the zombies. Zombies are extremely aggressive (can come in groups of 3-4 and with the watch bug where troops will not attack unless you look at them making micromanaging troops a must early game and extra walling). Economy will be extremely slow based on RNG because of lack of green lands generated in oasis. and a♥♥♥♥♥♥ton of desert. But you get alot of stone and iron which also blocks your house economy a bit. Oh did I mention barely any water? There are chokes... but lots of them, aka you have tiny mountain clusters and tiny holes coming from oasis. I play this♥♥♥♥♥♥on brutal and its super intense. But its fun to keep the game challenging especially for my stream.

So how to beat the game to unlock the other maps?
ECONOMY SECTION --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOOD = MONEY, MONEY = MORE ECONOMIC BUILDINGS, DEFENSES AND MILITARY.
You want to keep building stones and irons later in the game. Normally I go for stones around day 3-4 or even less if I have the lumber, and Iron after I get the stone foundry up.

PLAN AHEAD of where you want to build your houses and also the space in the middle of those houses for BOTH a bank and a market = $$$$$$$$$$ and more houses. I normally get my income to 400-600 by day 10-15 and by day 40-50 around 2000 or even more.

Keep in mind that a market needs 200 colonist and bank for 400.

build as many tents as possible if you have the space for it (PLANNING) then start upgrading if you have excess wood.

ALWAYS keep an eye on your resources. If you see your resources at full capacity SPEND THEM. Upgrade houses with wood/stone. Build more walls. EXPAND more. build more mills or some♥♥♥♥♥♥ just keep building♥♥♥♥♥♥otherwise hopefully you have a market by then to get some gold from excess.

RESEARCH SECTION ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RUSH a Wood Workshop first if you're waiting for stone for a soldiers center. RESEARCH FARMS/BALLISTAS then vice versa. Then if you see that you're heading towards 200 colonists then go for the market otherwise the wood cottages. And last but not least the Stone Workshop. You can go for lookout tower whenever cause you want to use them to plan your next expansion push.

For the Stone Workshop -> Stone Walls -> Bank/Stone House -> PowerPlant/Foundry.

For Foundry -> Oil Platform -> Mech Center -> Titans/Executors.

I skip researches such as....
Snipers - I don't really care much about clearing a village and expand the opposite direction and place ballistas towards the village to keep them off until I have titans or just wipe with archers close to the ballistas.

Traps - Cost too much damn gold and dies too easily without doing much harm unless end game where you have blade traps and excess of resources (build more economy and executors instead).

Stone Towers - I dont even build wood towers cause of gold cost but can be used later on for extra beefy blockers

Tesla Towers - ♥♥♥♥ 30 energy cost. I just rush Executers, Ballista gets the job done by wave 5.

Building Upgrades like MILLS and FARM - I aggressively expand so I always have plenty of space for more workers and building t1 mills and farms. Plus the upkeep TRIPLES for double the produce(Me like gold)

MILITARY SECTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RANGERS, AND MORE RANGERS, by day 40 I have around 40 rangers clearing the map, 1 upkeep, no food cost, fast as ♥♥♥♥, kinda stupid because of ai but still gets the job done, shouldnt be attracting other zombies but maybe latest patch kinda ♥♥♥♥ed it up?
♥♥♥♥ soldiers because they cost 1 food, and that means less food for more houses and workers, and they attract a♥♥♥♥♥♥ton of noise where you need at least 20 of them. Not to mention they get outranged by venom zombies or spitters.

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD i got straight to the
TITANZ for their massive range and damage and they also do splash. I normally have titans up by day 40-50. And to wipe the map you only really need 10 of them. But you can build more for the final horde.

DEFENSE SECTION --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wood wall spam and Ballistas per wall section by horde wave 2. because after wave 2 random hordes will start to appear with runners. Ballista gets the job done.

Traps = gold waste and wood waste, walls does a better job holding them off for you to take them out with troops or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ you have for defense. Also decays too easily when hitting zomb zombs.

Wood Towers - Waste of Gold, extra range doesnt really mean much, but can be used to help block♥♥♥♥♥♥cause of extra HP but only if you have excess of gold and Wood.

Stone Walls - I rush for these bad bois by at least wave 3-4. Does so much but can still get overruned without proper support.

Stone Towers - Again same as wood towers unless blocking.

GATES - I dont even bother because of the 3 squares of extra zombies hitting it making the gate fall faster. I just delete walls since theyre cheaper to replace if you have a decked out economy.

Teslas - Can clear waves easily but honestly you might as well rush for an executor by wave 5-6+, Cost too much energy so either you have an amazing energy economy or its not worth at all.

Executer Towers - Rush this♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥er after you get titans or some♥♥♥♥♥♥ I just Rush titans so I can expand faster then get executer towers after.

Blade Trap - Meh I prefer more stone walls since stone is easier to get than iron. But if you have excess go for it.

I need tips for the 4th map its the most difficult map, when i try to clean small area with ranger, horde of runneurs come and detroy me, i cant pass days 40 in 200%, i have many restart the map for good early, no grass early = no win.

So far I've been just playing this game on 500% only, which is absolutely frightning. Highest I got to was 48 days.

You want to wall up early. Overlap Patrols if possible. WALL OUTLYING Food HUTS or anything thats closest towards the zombies. Wall early. All I can really give you.

Great post Ragnorak, these tips are really helpful. I've been spending alot of resources on traps, gates and towers for troops.
It is most likely a better investment to rush other things for defense(at least in the games current state)

yup. nice tips and videos. I learned a lot. On 17th try I just won my first game...on 10% score factor. Baby steps. I went with pure rangers, clearing and holding land and eventually sweeping the map clean with titans. worked on building economy fast providing plenty o rangers and fast tech up. very helpful guide

How to surviver the acid spitters? I had a good economy(2k), +25 titans, several executors. And yet everything went down because of the acid spitters

You have to micro your titans to take out those spitters. Pause and see where the green venom comes from.

Ragnorak, how long did it take you to beat the first map. I've played 56hrs. I've made it to day 95, and day 96. I'm sure I'll beat it soon. I never have an economy as good as yours, I think that's my problem. Once I get that down, I'll be able to expand rapidly and build more titans. I rarely have more than twenty titans at end game, and that's probably low right? Also I might just sucks at RTS games, but I plated the ♥♥♥♥ out of Starcraft back in the day.

I found the second map to be the hardest as I kept getting map seeds that were completely open on all sides, and I mean completely open with no terrain.

3rd map is my fav.

1. Thank you very much for making this guide. Have you considered posting it in the actual "guides" section of the community hub for TaB?
2. There's a typo at Stone Walls: You wrote "overruned" but I believe it actually is "overrun".

I still got some tweaks to add in a bit. I did more playthrough and found a small amount of different strategies.
