Instant death when dodging in certain area

I start in the underground, and make my way towards the tunnel that leads to the harbor (and with a door to the prison on the other side)

In that particular area, between the door to the harbor, and the door to the prison, in the underground, if I dodge or attack, I just instantly die, all health gone.

Doesn't matter if I am close to enemies or not. I have been able to use the drone to kill enemies without instantly dying, but any movement other than just moving around with the default speed instantly kills me.

It wasn't like that from the very beginning, I was able to get through the area once, killing things there, but every time after that I can't dodge or attack in that area or I instantly die.

I've tried restarting the game etc.

One thing I've noticed is it happens more often after the Cathedral events, but I've had it happen once before. Don't know what caused it the first time, but post-Cathedral, every "fighting" action makes me instantly die in that part of the cave, too.
