Quest "Garden Variety" bugged

I found 2 seeds before speaking with the garden robot, after accepting the quest only one seed seems to have been planted, but both seeds were gone. Now i've found all 5 seeds, but since the first 2 were already used (only 1 planted), i can't plant all 5.

Maybe just don't make it auto-plant seeds when speaking to the robot/accepting the quest?

is there a way for me to cheat another seed into my inventory, so i can finish that quest?

You can, planted seeds before accepting the quest still count. Check how many flowers have appeared around the robot in their places

there are 4 flowers planted. the one to the right of the robot was planted automatically after speaking to it. i planted 3 flowers myself, the pot to the left of the robot is empty, but i've found all 5 seeds (as seid, i had 2 before speaking to the robot, found 3 afterwards). i also checked on a video walkthrough, just to make sure i really got them all.

edit: besides, a quick google search told me i'm not the only one who encountered a bug preventing them from finishiong this mission.

If you go to the empty pot with the seed in your inventory, won't you be able to plant it? The message press E should be visible

i got no seed in my inventory, i had 2 when talking to the robot the first time, after talking one seed was planted, but both seeds were gone from my inventory.

Now I get it, but It shouldn't be that way. I did plant 2 before taking the quest and three after it but planting one didn't make two disappear

i think the problem is with the auto-planting. i didn't plant those two seeds vefore talking, didn't know at the time you could plant them there. they got automatically removed when i was talking to the robot. if it didn't do that, i'm sure i could have planted them all manually without a problem.

classic example of adding an unnecessary feature which just causes trouble later down the line.

tbf i didn't encounter many bugs in this game and this one is by far the worst, but ultimately just annoying, since it only prevents you from getting one weapon for one playthrough. it's also dumb, because it seems to be easily fixable [probably just have to remove the auto-plant line from the code, since it's superflous anyway].
