Is Gideon's Rock skipable?

I advanced from Cloud 9 Bar to the AID Command.

And I was just curious, is it worth pressing forward?
Is Gideon's Rock eventually skipable?

(I found an AID Hound that I didnt want to fight at the Oaktree Apartments, that's why I thought I would come back when I was stronger. But since all my gear is already at MKV, I was wondering if I could skip Gideon's Rock and just proceed here? Besides that weird Robot telling me to kill some Monster in GD... meh! Idc...)

I don't think so, at a certain point you'll need a keycard from the science museum... was it called that, dunno? I was about to ask if you can skip the cloud nine in the beginning. You'll miss the emp but do you need that to progress?

The EMP Starfish Drone thingy? I think you need that. But you get it after lil John?

Yeah, I think the cathedral is closed until you return from the hospital. Question is whether you have to kill Jonny or not.

Yeah, you need both areas to progress and you need the Starfish to open the door to the final boss of Command.
