Best weapons in the game?
Simple as that, what are considered the best weapons in the game? There's so many that upgrading and testing them all is out of question!

I'm partial to the Codename: Elise, but JAG-22 'Aeterna' is also extremely good. Both of them being no-frills, non-elemental, with great... well, everything.
My only regret is that I never thought to pair the latter with the Tactile Enhancer implant.

I'm mostly a spear user but I start to think that bosses may require different weapons since there's no aoe needed, so something hitting a bit harder might be best.

I'm not a parry guy though, I usually just hit and dodge..

Objectively speaking, I'd say the Ironmaus gloves (Justice something), the punching gloves are one of the best for an aggressive, non-block, non-dodge, berserker play style (coupled with a few other vital pieces of gear and implants).

General's ACU 2.0 is better with its stacking attack speed and stability buff.

I think I have those, while I can't get the IronMaus gloves yet since I'm in the cathedral and I've sent him home.

So for the cathedral boss you'd say that ACU 2.0 could work well?

Uhm, I have the cerberus armor on atm, what implants are we talking about here?

I've upgraded all the heavy-duty weapons to 20 and the Archangel V2 has the best damage output.

This, weapon is pretty broken xD
Crystalline Hookblade has the highest non-elemental damage I've seen from a spear so far. I prefer spear too for the mobility and that it allows you to jump in, poke, and get out. Surviving is key to learning, plus spear like the twin rigged has a "spin to win" combo that when paired with a certain implant, heals you for every five consecutive hits, allowing you to go for the "deeps" when an opening presents itself.

As someone else pointed out on these forums, the General's ACU 2.0 always kills faster than the IronMaus gloves even if the stats would indicate otherwise

Thats false i both tested them in newgame ++ mous outdamaged 2.0 by allot and kills faster to.
All stats are worse on it as well, only a bit more energy gain ;)
Lesser impact as well, its trash compared to iron mouse gloves.

I think at some point upgrading the Gaia spear outstrips it, at level X I seem to recall it having slightly higher damage.

Actually with the right armour set and implants pretty much any weapon works. I personally like the spear of brother truman, cause it can stunlock everything (doesnt do much dmg in NG+++ upwards though), archangel V2 pretty much wrecks anything but is reeeeeeeally slow :P I also like the firebug things, which can actually do a lot of dmg as well.

Surge, 1 or 2, makes decent attempt to make most weapons viable without too many clear outliers--Claws of Gestalt were too good in Surge 1 but I do not think Surge 2 has anything as clearly better than the rest as the claws.

I like staffs, spears and punching gloves--anything that attacks fast, has a range to its attacks or both. Spears are good when you try to learn new fights as it keep your stamina available for dodging. I go staff on most bosses due to combination of range, good attack combos and decent energy gains. Spears lack in energy gain generation.

ng2 and forward, weapon iron mouse and 2 loadouts. creep kill loadout, full chrysalis set cuz op set bonus, after 4 stack, go at boss. boss loadout, full mg cerberus. too lazy to write implants.
