Please Read if Technical Issues
Hello everyone,

Many of you are already slicing their way through Jericho City, but we’re sorry to read that some players are experiencing technical issues and crashes. If you encounter these, please try the following workarounds.

If you are unable to launch the game and you have ‘settings.ini’ in Documents\The Surge 2, please delete this file and restart the game.

If any of these workarounds help you solve the issue you experienced, please send us the three game logs and your save file in attachment with a description of the issue to support@focus-home.com

Any updates planned? Have been tinkering around the settings and just cannot have a nice experience due to inconsistent frametimes.
the game runs fine for me with the exception of some frame drops but ultimately its not stopping my progress so im happy.

still wouldnt say no to a patch tho ;)

1 - Inventory button doesn't swap. I change it on "T" in settings and it saved, but inventory opens on "I" anyway.
2 - Add slots or keymapping to lock on drones. I have 4 buttons. For example I want R-47 drone on "1", Molotov on "2", drone that scans area on "3", drone that makes banners on "4". When I find new drone and chose it, it goes on "1" button. When return R-47. All the slots are mixed: scan drone on "2", R-47 on "3", Molotov on 1, etc. And how to swap between favourite drones? There is no any button in the key mapping.
3 - Please, set another keys for choosing elements during makine a hint with drone. I have pre-charged healing on "Q". When I make a hint and use Q and E I heal myself and change element at the same time.

Please fix the issues devs. Steam reviews already are pretty bad because of it.

This is a joke. I deleted 'seeting/ini' in the documents folder and did so again about five times after reinstalling the game. The furthest I get is the character customization screen before it crashes with that "failed to execute Vulkan command 'result' file C:..." error. I don't know how this Vulkan error has anything to do with the a setting page in documents, but I'm a gamer, not a game developer. Sounds like most people are having performance issues anyways. I'll keep this in my library for now because I really want to play this game, but the game appears to be poorly optimized according to many people than can play it. Similar situation to Control's initial release but worse imo. I hope you guys can hunker down and figure out how to optimize the performance and crashing issues soon. And please keep us informed on any progress about a patch or different solution to this error code. I have also done the windows update that I can't remember the name of, to no avail of course. I know you guys worked hard on this for many years, but first impressions count. There is still time to fix this game, and you guys at Deck13 can do it!

Hello, a patch definitely is in the work but we are still trying to get a bit more details and logs on the most recurring launch crashes, since we seem to have various causes.

If you are crashing, if you could do the following and provide us with the logs it would be tremendously helpful:

A. Enable the Game Logs (Fledge.log, fledge_foundation.log and FledgeRenderer.log files):

1. Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer from the taskbar.
2. Navigate to Documents > The Surge 2.
3. Right click on the settings.ini file > Edit.
4. Add: logging_enabled = true
5. Run The Surge 2 and reproduce the bug.

The game logs are stored in Documents > The Surge 2 > logs.

B. Alternatively, if the game launches, could you:

1. Open the task manager
2. Right click on Surge2.exe
3. Create a dump file
4. Send us the dump (it should go to C:\Windows\dump)

Are you patching only launch issues or the overall performance?

Both if you can (you can send us a wetransfer link or similar).

But if your game is not booting up at all (no crash, just not booting) it could also help to have your dxdiag so we can check if it could be hardware related.

For now we are looking into the stuttering issue (where we have a lead but we'll confirm when we have something testable for you guys) and the 2 main crashes causes.

If you hadn't released your game in this broken state maybe it wouldn't be sitting at 62% on Steams store page. All negative reviews mention technical issues. Just saying.
