How is this game for solo play? Does it cater to cooperative play?
I really want this game, but I'm worried that it caters more towards cooperative and online play than it does a good single player experience.

So, are all the prisons enjoyable and completely playable for solo play? Are there some paths to escape that are only for cooperative play?

Thank you!

i've played a little solo, seems fine to me. I have not run into anything gamebreaking as this guy says

There are few escape routes require another friend to complete, but the core gameplay doesn't require co-op.

So, there are some things you can only do with another player. That's too bad. I know cooperative play is not required, but taking a great single player game and focusing it towards multiplayer is disappointing to me.

If the biggest fun to be had is tucked away for multiplayer play only, then this is not the game for me. I hope that's not the case, so I will keep reading responses and hope for the best.

Thank you all! Keep your opinions and feedback coming!

Thank you for the comments about bugs, but let's please try to keep this on topic. This is not a thread asking about bugs, it is a thread discussing the solo gameplay vs. multiplayer gameplay.

Most of the bugs being experienced are limited to multiplayer play. As for multiplayer only content, so far I've come across doors that can only be opened in a 2 player scenario, i.e. one prisoner holds open the door and the other goes into the room. BUT, I do not know if their is or isn't a way for a player to hire a NPC prisoner to do the same for you or not. I HAVE NOTICED that the room that needs an additional player to access easily DOES have a vent. Which means there is an alternate path to enter said room.

I've only played local coop, but there appears to be escape routes that are only available on single player, too. So there are plenty of escape methods in both modes. Otherwise, it plays just like the first game which was single player only.

Androsida got banned for this?

There's multiple routes for coop and single, some are locked to coop, some are locked to coop.

Regardless, co-op is buggy, and the game as a whole.
Save your money for a week maybe.

The game is NOT buggy, not from my experience, the game is easier and I believe in some maps there are ways which you can only escape in Co-op, but other than that, it's cool to play on your own

I agree with you, without the yelling, but you could have combined all your responses into a single post. It's too bad that the developers never really commented on this issue. I guess they just weren't interested in making all gameplay available in single player mode.

Hopefully their next game will be something special!
