they reduced the chance of youtubers spawning because everyone got really triggered about youtubers being in the game for some reason.
and on top of that, over half of those names were stupid as hell because they either didn't make sense or had random capitals/numbers in them
should have been an option to toggle youtubers on or off not this less chance crap.
I second this. Absolutely in love with the game, but having YouTubers run about the prisons doesn't feel right at all; it should be an option disabled by default, which you can enable when you are selecting/customising inmates.
I hope they change this sooner rather than later; it unneccesarily aims towards the younger demographic and I'm finding it hard to encourage my some of my buddies to buy it.
Second this also
+1
i agree add me to the list
On that note: As far as I can tell, the reason the original system favoured YouTubers was because the YouTuber NPCs had predefined outfits/looks and it heavily reduced the chance of getting these strange prisoner generations en masse. Instead of one or two of these NPCs spawning in a YouTuber filled prison, you now have to make a choice of dealing with the strange generation or go through and 'fix' them individually before each prison starts.
TL;DR: It's way too easy to say "This is stupid. Why can't I have a fix tomorrow? What's taking so long?" when you don't fully understand the intricate details of the existing system and how much code adjusting, new code, old code removal, etc etc etc will be required to give you such a 'fix' without breaking 100 other things in the process. Too many games do that these days. Implement a fix for 1 seemingly mundane thing but managed to break 100 others.
Although I'm going to miss pummeling JackScepticeye and CinnamonToastKen into paste.
At least once you edit all your prisoners in any given prison it stays that way, so you don't have to delete any cancer from your game each time you want to play. +1 for them thinking of that, at least.
Now if only they'd let you name dogs, staff and the Warden..
99 bugs in the code...fix it up, patch it up, prep it up...107 bugs in the code...
Regardless though they're not some fat basement keyboard warrior, they're Team17, they have a company with plenty of staff, even if the game feels like a crappy indie game at times. It shouldn't take long nor take too much effort - they're getting paid for it.
Glad it's done, somewhat.
Next up, a fixed censor, eh what?
Oh, I'm not arguing nor disagreeing with the fact that they have the resources to make such a fix. What I am alluding to though is that as it stands, we have the random generation people demanded when they rained hell fire down on Team17 for the YouTubers thing and at the moment, while weird, it works. This is not going to be released as a patch of its own though. Resources for this issue aside, they have way more troubling things to worry about than pushing a 'toggle' system. People left and right on this discussion forum are crashing. I would contest that "Fix/remove/toggle censor" or "Where's our prisoner generation toggle?" are the kinds of things you would see 'on the side' of a patch that addresses bigger problems.
