Great to see that you are enjoying BoxVR. Please let us know how you get on and keep up the good work.
BoxVR involves strenuous physical activity so we recommend that you consult your doctor before beginning any exercise routine or fitness regimen. Some key considerations before working out in VR are to make sure your balance and physical abilities are sufficient for the movements that will be performed while exercising with BoxVR. These include jabs, hook, uppercuts, squats, and dodges.
If you experience excessive fatigue, nausea, chest tightness or dizziness, STOP IMMEDIATELY and consult a doctor. Additionally, BoxVR should not be used to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or medical condition.
Doing 30 minutes a day sounds like a good starting point as long as you are not experiencing excessive fatigue, nausea, chest tightness, or dizziness. As you get fitter, you can increase the length of the workouts you do or add weights, such as a weighted vest of very light write weights.
Finally, pace yourself, hydrate, and do some slight stretches to cool down following any BoxVR workout.
We are posing tips on health and nutrition on our social channels, so to keep up to date with the latest updates, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn.
Hydrate. Dear God stay hydrated. If you're using a vive I recommend the thinner face pads. They don't absorb as much sweat and can be easily washed.
Like Ben said, stretching is crucial. Look up shoulder stretches to do before and after a session.
Another tip a friend gave me (was a former boxer): don't over commit to the punches. Big difference between shadow boxing and actually hitting a bag is the resistance. In VR, there is none. You can very easily hurt yourself by over extension.
