Cakes and Cookies.. How to clean icing spatula?

I can't figure it out.. and I lost a spatula to an invisible hole in the side of the sink trying desperately to jam the sponge into it over and over. Using it on a cake/cookie can't be the only way to get rid of extra icing can it?

Also is there or will there be a way to make your own frosting with all the ingredients besides adding select little flavor extracts or colors to the containers? Most of the ingredients are there so I don't see why not. We could just pour it into the containers after using the blender or mixing bowls to make the frosting or icing. I wanted to make some spicy rum buttercream for the hashtags and couldn't. :c That's a bit disappointing.

While holding the spatula, click on a trash can. Whatever icing is on it will be "thrown away". As for the custom frosting, I don't know.
