Career mode.. do I HAVE to learn new recipies?
I kinda want to rp my own little sea food restaurant, but it seems that I am forced to learn new recipes every other night. Is there any way to turn that off? My issue is that the menu I have to cook is way to big and spreads out in directions I don't like (italian, bakery and so on).

Is there any way to choose/restrict your own menu in career mode? And is there a way to slow progress down so the restaurant isn't bombarded with customers after a few hours?

Also I can't seem to find any difficulty settings, any way to make it harder to earn money? After a few nights money don't seem to be an issue anymore.

Over a month later... :(

That's what I came here to find out.. and I really don't think there's a way to turn off being forced to take new recipes, or I haven't found a way.

I've seen suggestions for limiting the number of meals per day to "X", "Y", or "Z" for different difficulty levels, but that's just not necessary. If they gave us the option to select which meals we want to serve on any given day, say 3 or more (or one if you're new, the number really doesn't matter here I guess, more options = better game, 99.9% of the time), that would solve this problem completely.

Want to force us to get a new recipe every other day? That's fine, we don't have to add it to the day's menu. You feel that trying to remember over a dozen recipes is ridiculous since you haven't had time to learn half of them yet? Fine, add them to your menu later, after mastering the meals you already have.

If the developers played this game more than a couple weeks into the career mode, they'd see the obvious problem here. There are 55 classic recipes (that I counted, I may have missed some or not been looking in the right place), which means, if you continue being forced to accept new recipes, you have to memorize 55 recipes in this game to respond to an on screen order. 55 Different recipes. How much of each spice on every ingredient over 55 recipes. How long to cook every ingredient in 55 recipes. Which oil/liquid to use in 55 recipes. All sides/vegetables to add. If you can't memorize all of that (because you're normal) you literally have to prepare HUNDREDS of meat ingredients, vegetables, soups, mixes, etc. ahead of time to serve every customer successfully. It's silly. They should allow you to select whichever meals you want to work with in career mode.

This is objectively better because it doesn't change anything for anyone who disagrees. Like the system as is? Like the challenge? Fine, allow all new recipes you acquire to be on your menu every day, nothing changes for you.
