Thanks for the suggestion. Here is a hint about the mechanics: when you are done with preparing the dish, you don't have to serve it right away, if you have spare time, you can clean the kitchen and then serve prepared dish ;)
ok but the whole idea is to serve food hot and fresh, so i like to get it out fast but ill try that
We want to add difficulty settings in the future but can't promise that 100%, first we want to focus on bug fixing.
Food on the floor, is a feature, not a bug. :)
as you dont know what your cooking you cant prep without losing money
On this...you actually can prep. You're informed as to what the dish of the day is, so try prepping for that. Example...Gazpacho- during prep phase fill the food processor with 2x the ingredients and you can just keep pouring away :)
Grilled tuna- pre-season a bunch of tuna steaks and plop them on a huge plate near the grill.
etc.
Also, I cut a ton of lemons during prep and pop them in a bowl next to the knife rack. Put a bunch of plates and deep plates on the shelves under the work areas. Saves a lot of time...
This game also doesn't fully simulate the real working cooking industry of restaurants or diners.
Some aren't even open 24/7 7 days a weeks. However there may be workers around during the off hours doing cleaning, AND prep cooking. I should know, I worked in the food industry.
I remember prepping soup for the next day during one of our off days.
Basically what I suggest is... Add a couple days off, where there are no orders and all you have to do is prep, clean and repair with the ability to skip to the end of day. Essentially an heavily extended Cleaning/Prep stage.
As well as add some sealable storage containers for prepped food items, such as soups which might have to be cool before putting it in said container. Prepared foods, like sliced lemon, etc.
Of course after a certain number of days, the stored items would turn into spoiled food. Which could either be trashed/dumped. OR could be sold to farmers would could make spoiled veggies/fruits into compost for a bonus profit.
Another suggestion...
Allow certain things like the small bowl to fill up when immersed into the big pot, since logically. If you put a smaller bowl into a bigger pot the bowl would fill up.
Another quality of life idea...
Allow the player to NAME the establishment, as well as other customization options depending on it's fame.
Like with enough fame you can unlock a.... WALK IN REFRIGERATOR which can be selected in future new games maybe bind it to an Achievement.
Oh and if it's not already in the game. Allow us to view the current objective recipes without looking at the screens around the kitchen.
I may have more suggestions, but can't think of them atm.
A professional chief doesn't serve food holding a rock while manuevering a chopstick underwater as controls.
Wow. This.
I especially like the idea of having unused prepped food spoil after a time. I was just noticing how you can keep potatoes, apples, presumably everything out and use it whenever without penalty.
And the walk-in fridge...that would be awesome!
Measuring cups would be another cool addition, especially for some of the more complicated recipes...
