is there some recipe book of some sort? or do i have to play the actual game to unlock recipes.

Yes, the exact same way you do in the tutorial and campaign mode, which is placing the completed dish on the serving ledge next to the dumbwaiter, then selecting the serve icon from the tablet beside the ledge.

yeah it froze for me when i did that so i had to reboot the game

Dont Cook own Meals, you have to use the recipe from the Laptop, then you can serve it.

Hey,
Just to clarify things, in Sandbox you can view all the recipes that are available in the game in game through the in-game laptop. In tab Order Manager you can see the whole and by clicking on button "Order" under them you can now serve this disth to the customer and be rated for the taste of you dish.

thanks i'll try that :) i'll be playing the sandbox then, i wish they have a make your own meal function in this game so i can fiddle around with my own recipes.
