Baked Cod 1 heating errors

I've been having a blast with the game, and for the most part have been able to figure things out. But the Baked Cod (first version) recipe is stumping me.

I think I'm following the directions as they're written, but every time I turn it in I get 3.5 (or fewer) stars and am told there was a heating error.

The (somewhat abbreviated) directions are:

Season the cod
Fry for 35s on each side
Put on a baking tray
Drizzle liquids
Bake for 45s
Serve

Doing this with appropriate timing *does* get the "cooked" meter on the cod to completely full with the red outline at the very end of the recipe. Confusingly, it is not full when flipping it on the frier, or when taking it off the frier.


To clarify on a few things:

For the fry section, I am using the frier next to the stove, not a pan.
I am flipping the cod on the frier, so it spends a total of 70 sec there before going on the baking tray.
I am drizzling onto the cod when it's on a baking tray, making sure to hit the cod with the right amount of liquids, and not the tray itself.
For baking, I'm using the Upper Oven.


Any suggestions or info about what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm assuming there was a little typo in here somewhere :) Can you clarify which step should be longer? Frying or baking?

I just spent a little time working on this recipe in sandbox mode:

Tried leaving the cod on the frier until the cooking bar was full on both sides, so about 60 sec instead of 35. -- Same problem, "heating errors"

Then left it in the oven for 60 sec instead of 45 sec. The red overlay was about a third of the way in when I took out and served it. -- Same problem, "heating errors"


I also cooked it as directed by the recipe just to see if there was some difference between sandbox and career (or I was doing it wrong and hadn't noticed and maybe would do it right this time), but same problem. I made sure it stayed in the oven until it got the red outline on its progress bar, before serving it. Which was at about the 46 second mark of being in the oven.

As you said, you need to fry (on griddle, next to the fridge) for 35s on each side. Then transfer to the bake tray and put it in the oven for 45s.

If you will be having this problem again, could you post a screenshot showing baked cod with it's parameters before serving it?

Thanks a ton for the image of the prepared meal, I think that's actually highlighting the issue I am having.

When I bake the cod in the "Upper Oven", it does not get the second cooked icon (the one of an oven), it only has the pan icon from when it was fried.

Were you using a different oven for the baking step? I've been using the Upper Oven almost exclusively so far, so I'll try it again using a different oven.

So it looks like there's something off about the Upper Oven.

I just redid the recipe using the Gas ..Broiler I think it was called? The one directly underneath the stove.

And with the Lower Oven.

Both times the cod came out fine, had the "oven" cooked symbol next to the fry symbol, and was worth 5 stars both times.

:Edit: Perhaps this topic should be moved to bug reports? I think at this point it's now a bug report for the Upper Oven.

I'm having this same issue. I just did the recipe twice now and followed recipe exact. 35 seconds each side and I got 3 and a half stars. Confused with heating mistakes, so I reloaded the quicksave and tried with grill instead and still same issue. I am always getting 5 stars but this is only dish I can't do it on cause of heating mistakes, there is no other way to fry a fish so I think cod in general is bugged.

It has not yet been resolved. Today I tried it many times, using upper oven, lower oven and gas broiler and none worked. No matter how long you leave, he doesn't get the baked seal.

I can get 5 stars but I always get "heating mistake" complain. I was trying to do all recipes with 5 stars and no complain but I'm stuck with this one.

There's still an issue with this. None of the ovens work for this it never has the baked seal no matter how many times you cook it or different ovens you use. I'll be taking it off my menu until its fixed but it has been 5 years now.
