Crashing on first sushi level with tutorial on

I can get through making rice okay, start the day, when I go to put nori on the mat it pulls up the tutorial on how to make maki and then the game completely freezes. I can pull the phone up and put it back down but there's nothing on the screen. Can't pull up the menu or anything else, I keep having to force quit.

I also submitted a thread on this. I found that the way around it breaking your game is to use the back button on the phone (the bottom sideways u) before you press tab to close it. Super frustrating because my instinct is always to just hit tab, so I've been saving after every "successful" tutorial. >.<
