Sushi - tutorials breaking game

When I touch the fish knife and prompt the tutorial on cutting fish, the game stops and I cannot continue. I've tried letting the tutorial continue and tried stopping it part-way through. I cannot use the escape key to bring up the game menu, either. The only thing I can do is press tab to bring my phone up and down, though I can't actually do anything on it when I do.

This time, I went in and did the knife tutorial first, started randomly clicking around, and was able to exit the tutorial without crashing the game. (This was my 5th attempt starting a new day.) There is also a bit of a lag with exiting the rice tutorial but I was able to hit escape on that one and get control back.

Update: this is not specific to those two tutorials.... the trick seems to be using the little back button on the phone before you hit the tab key to close it.
