Cakes & Cookies, can't decorate my cakes

I'm new to the game since yesterday, and it's all still a bit of figuring out how everything works. But I regularly find myself unable to put decorations on my cakes, donuts, while I have put frosting on them. Sometimes I manage to put a decoration piece on my cake, but often not. And I don't know why. Sometimes the shadow of the decoration piece is in 'invisible' red because I didn't succeed, and stays exactly there. And often I can't complete daily hashtags because I have to use Halloween decorations, and I can't place them

I restarted my game and now it works again, but I notice that I regularly have the intention that I cannot place decoration pieces
