"Fried" ingredients? (Sushi)

When a sushi roll recipe calls for, for example, "fried" eel, has anyone figured out what the recipe actually wants? I've tried cooking the eel on the grill, but that doesn't seem to be it. Throwing the eel in the deep fryer seemed weird, but I tried it anyway, and that doesn't seem to be it either. I don't have the tempura ingredients yet, and I would think if the recipe was looking for that, it would say "tempura eel" or "deep fried eel," but what do I know.

the fried status is actually broken so it does not change the ingredient to fried after you put it on the grill. no chance, check discord. tempura unlocks i think with level 12.
