What's With The Mechanics In This Game

Painful is all i can say, i have been trying now for a half hour now and no matter what i do I can not place anything down in this Pizza DLC. I purchased the game a long time ago and it looked like fun but I don't understand the mechanics and why something so easy is impossible. The pizza pan either ends up in the window or if it actually allows me to place it the tray breaks, I position the tray over the counter and it won't allow me to drop it so i either have to move closer which put the pizza pan up in the window or if i move away from the counter it allows me to put it down and it falls on floor, if i try tossing it on the counter it once again breaks.

I'm a little confused, you say pizza pan but the screenshot is of a plate. So to be clear this is when using plates not the special shovel (I forget name) beside the oven?

You can't put plates down on that counter, you can only place pizza dough and take pizzas from that counter using the shovel. That counter is for pizza making only, if you follow the tutorial you'll see how it works
Plates will break if you throw them, there is a perk that will make plates unbreakable

maybe I forgot the name also, really... How can you correct me and then say your being clear and then state you forgot name, I am laughing so hard i can no longer type.

I am calling the pizza shop first thing tomorrow and ask them if they use a shovel.

Is that the dough on the floor? Forget the plate and pick up the dough and set it down on the counter
Also, when holding something are you following the instructions on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Do they tell you to hit the middle mouse button to drop things, if so it sounds like you've got the shift key stuck down, you can just place things by clicking on a surface but as I said you won't be able to place plates on the highlighted part of the counter in your screenshot

I put the dough on the board that was highlighted in green but it is still telling me to put the dough on the board. If i can't get this pizzza going i am not going to make any dough.

Help me with this and i will share the pizza with you and Ohh, the shovel is called a peel, why i have no idea, i think shovel is more appropriate, we will call it the shovel from here on

Hmm try picking the dough up and putting it down on the left part of the highlighted counter.
If that doesn't work restart the tutorial, pick the dough up when it says and set it down on the left part of the highlighted counter (the section beneath the two ingredient containers), it should move on to the next step. If not report as a bug

Also, it was half 2 in the morning when I replied so thats why I was a bit out of it
