Cooking Simulator
Does Career Mode mostly involve being timed?
I've been thinking about picking this game up over the past week or so. I recently noticed a part that mentions that Sandbox Mode gives you access to all of the recipes and ingredients and lets you prepare whatever you like without any pressure.

Does that mean everything in Career Mode is timed? I'm more of a fan of simulators that give you tasks without a time limit, or time limits that are extremely lenient, but I'd also like having some sort of progression to work through as I play.

For example, Car Mechanic Simulator 15 lets you progress by purchasing tools that speed up or unlock more difficult repair options. American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 do have time limits, but they're extremely lenient even when doing express deliveries.

from my play time(9 hours) i have not seen insane presure from it. the most i got where 2-3 with with about a fair timelimit. unless you struggel at multitasking it should not be a problem. but keep in mind that the longer you take the fewer starts you get for making time.

Hey White Rhino PSO
In career mode recipes are timed - length depending on your fame level (restaurant level), you will have more lenient times in early phase of the game while mid and late game might be quite challenging. However there are in game skills and perks that can extend prep times, cleaning phases and time for cooking specific ordered dish.

We also recently released Food Network DLC that has 'customized challenge' - you decided how much time you have and how many stars you need to 'earn' during the play-through.

The time limit in career mode can make things silly. I've laughed a lot making messes. Most of the time, I don't bother cleaning up stuff. Since no health inspectors ever come over to inspect your kitchen, it can be quite the disaster. I intentionally leave mine in disarray cuz I think it's silly to do so.

The time limits are manageable, especially when you get used to doing things. You'll learn shortcuts. You also have prep time, so you can make some things in advance for the next day. The game will also tell you what dish will be popular that day (kind of like a special). For example, you can cut up bowls of lemons and stash them for the next day.

If you drop your steak on the floor, just toss it back on the plate. No one seems to care. I think that's fine cuz sometimes the physics can get wonky occasionally.

The time isn't like a fast food place, so don't worry too much. Like I said, the time limit, in my opinion, makes the game more fun.

If you have to do everything perfect, and expect your kitchen to be spotless all day long, then you may have a few issues with the game play. It's not a hardcore sim. It's more lighthearted fun with a lot of things to do.

For an extra challenge, invite a friend over, and make it into a drinking game. I've done that a few times, and the laughs we had were quite entertaining. To do this, buy a plastic bucket, and place it in the corner. After each plate, you have to grab a potato, and shoot it in the bucket. If you miss, you take a drink. Lol. Good fun.
