Ok so I am super pissed, apparently Kalikke reject me no matter what I do during the soul eater quest. siding with her or being neutral makes no difference, after I rest with her I get a conversation where she tells me that she could fall in love with me, maybe, but death follow her everywhere she goes and she can't gfet attached. pretty much mean romance over.

I did everything right, always been nice when talking to her picking chaotic good choice, I complimented her during the first dialogue after the intial recruitment quest, I did kanerah romance, slept with her enough time to trigger the akward shift and told her I would like her to fall on me.
the only thing I didn't do was the bluff to have her hug me since that seemed like a mean thing to do, so I picked the chaotic good aligned dialogue

and yet somehow, I get rejected and I don't know why, I am also chaotic good aligned so shouldn't be an issue, this is lame.

also after soul eater quest I get no camp conversation for kanerah at all.

edited to add: I checked my romance value before the soul eater quest, it's 21 for kalikke and 50 for kanerah.

Seraph, you did everything right, so it should go. Development of relations with Kalikka only after the final quest in chapter 8. In Chapter 7, their relations with me were 80 and 31. There will be almost no dialogs after the second quest. It is necessary to avoid a high relationship with Narissa, or reject at the beginning of the chapter. I had to change the save file from 80 to 8.

Query: Is it required to have a low Romance value with Nyrissa whole romancing the sisters? Could you just not give Nyrissa the Briar come the pivotal moment (opting for an alliance instead)?

Well thank you for telling me I am still on the right track but this is really weird, . If you can only romance her after chapter 7, well, that mean the romance doesn't exist pretty much cause that's the end of the game

If you come to chapter 7, then at the beginning of the House on the Edge of Time, both sisters will confront you. If there is a high rate of relations with Narissa, then Kanera will say that she will not stand in your way and the dialogue will simply end without options. If it is low, it is recognized in eternal love (only Kanera), but at the end of chapter 8 it still goes away if it is framed in the second quest for the purpose of Sweethearts.

By opening a savefile with WinRAR or 7Zip and checking their romance variables (should be somewhere in this discussion) in player.json.

my observation is that the whole storyline broke after quest 3 (4 never popped and the romance got stuck after spending the night in the throne room bedroom with kanerah) and rendered said characters a complete and utter waste of time

Comment: I'm at Varnhold and other than their initial quest, taking a walk with Kanerah and the swap event nothing has happened. A bit dissapointed and Im not just referring to the romance, everyone else has been coming over with quest bits. I'm starting to lose interest... or maybe I'm just impatient.

Well, I made it to the end, so here's the effect of the double romance attempt with netural choices:

1) Neither girl changed alignment, and I'm pretty sure based on the epilogue that there isn't a way to do so.
2) I'll describe my chapter 6 and 7 cutscenes below, in direct response to questions, but I did get both scenes.
3) During the chapter 7 cutscene, I was able to propose to both girls and got that 'big happy threesome wedding' ending. I also had options to reject one or both girls, which would presumably result in an exclusive romance like we saw in the slides.
4) Any other questions?

Agree with the other repliers: this is the normal conversation, not a break up. After completing it, Kalikke's value should rise to 80 for you. Kanera's will as well after you finish her coronation cutscene.

Did you try advancing the plot to the House at the Edge of Time? After the coronation scene, the only romance content left before that point should be a follow up conversation with the girls. Then you get a cutscene in House at the Edge of Time, where Kanera (and its only Kanera, even if you have successfully romanced both sisters) confesses her love to you. Then in the next chapter, after you rescue your people and end the mechanical effects of the curse, the Forefather will appear and take the girls from the Storyteller's camp
This activates a unique quest where you can chase after them through a fey portal, and rescue one or both girls based on your choices. With a successful romance, this gives you one additional cutscene, which includes Kalikke confessing her love if also romanced, and the opportunity to propose to one or both sisters. Unfortunately, that IS all the content, so you're right that some chapters like Pitax are pretty bare, but don't assume it's stuck unless you've progressed into Nyrissa's castle.

You will not get the girls' next quest till the end of chapter 4, closer to when you begin Armag's Tomb. But don't worry, it should be coming as far as our experience can tell.

Also just if anyones interested: I have not been picking romantic lines with Nyrissa. Being nice, not flirty will raise her value. Just a warning. Im curious what will happen in the end.

That really pisses me off in the game - if you're nice to her the game automatically assumes you wanna bang her and adds points to her approval counter. When I go to Inconsequential Debates she's always mentioned for whatever reason. Does anybody know what to say to her in dialogues not in a mean way so that she'd stop getting it wrong?
